Hello everybody, welcome to answer interesting day of this Steemit Engagement Challenge S3W3. Today we are into the third day of this week and there is another interesting topic in steem for betterlife community where we have to write about function and working of gender in our country with respect to other countries and also what about the condition in steemit platform. So here we will start our today topic with little introduction.

Introduction to Gender

Before talking about the gender working in the countries we should know about the difference between the sex and gender. As from the start we consider that sex and gender are quite similar terms but the fact is not the the same as we consider. When we take a reference from English language these both term of sex and gender are different from each other and this differentiation was start in almost 1950.

If we consider the reference from World Health Organization sex interpret the physical and biological characters of the Male and females which includes the

• Chromosomes
• Hormones
• Reproductive Organs

While in case of gender we refer to social values of the men and women which includes the

• Norms
• Relationship between men and women
• Roles
• Influence the way how people interact with each other

So this basic difference is that sex difference on the base of nature while gender on the base of nurture. Gender of the a person is a relationship of 4 different dimensions which includes

• Biological sex
• Gender Expression
• Sex Orientation
• Gender Identity

Role of Gender in Everyday Life

When we talk about how gender play a role in the society definitely the answer will be yes! Gender play a vital role in the society. There are two kinds of gender in our society which are referred as male and female. Male act as differently to the society while female act as differently. Everything is different for male and female frim each other when we see this as a gender difference.

They are assigned work on the base of gender. They speak, work ,dress, and relationship with other in different way. These role of the society may change from society to society and from group to group. Let's us take an example of the color combinations in clothes in US then pink color is suitable for men while blue color for females.

Gender role are when a person is given a role of work in a certain way on the base of society expectations to that gender. Males are expected to be aggressive, more strong, powerful, not so much emotional. While female are considered to be work more as domestic, more emotional, nurturing etc. Gender role as stereotypes is also effect the role that who is beautiful and who is not.

When we talk about the female gender they are not traditionally given the high pay projects in our society which is not good I think so. Women also play a vital role in the progress of the society so they are also given proper chance to show their talent. Male are more consistent and play more sports as they are physical strong while female are not. My suggestion is that society should not look so much to gender and treat everyone as people.

Role or Function of Gender in Pakistan

When I talk about the role and function of male and female in my country Pakistan. There is a division of labor of work between the men and women. Both of the gender has their own boundaries beyond which they are prohibited to go. Women and men are considered as different from each with respect to their role towards the building of the society. These are some differentiation of work between men and worn in Pakistan

• The responsibilities of men is to work outside the home and make earnings for the children. He is responsible for meeting the needs of his family. While women's are considered to live at home, take care of their children and make food and other necessities for his family. This case is mostly occurs in village areas.
• While if we take an example of city area where both men and women are well educated. They both go for work According to their professions. Men mostly do work in outside places while women's are not given so much hard work and they did the office work mostly in cities.
• While taking about the education of male and female in Pakistan, in rural areas men are given more Chance to study and females are not given too much chance because people consider that women has to do work at home so she does not need any education. While in cities both men and women are given equal education.
• While talking about the dresses of women and men , in Pakistan women are not allowed to wear pent shirt in rural areas , the are allowed to wear shalwar qamez and also veil and some areas l. While in case of cities this discrimination in not occurs.
• In most of areas of Pakistan especially in Balochistan and Sindh , decision making power is only given to the men. They made decision about the future of the family while women are just asked to follow the decision that was made by the men.

Is Roles or Functions are same as in other Countries

If we compare the role and function of gender in Pakistan as compared to other countries the situation is completely different from Pakistan. If we compare the working status of women in Pakistan to that of Europe then in Europe all the women are allowed to work freely while this is not the case in Pakistan. In Europe decision making power is given to both men and women.

If I talk about the voting power then in Pakistan voting power is given to both men and women but like in Saudi Arabia women are not allowed to cast their votes. In Europe dressing of females are different from the dressing of females in Pakistan. Our norms and value are quite similar to that of India because Pakistan and indian people lives together for long time. So that is why our values are almost similar to each other.

What about Steemit

When I talk about the Steemit then I would like to say that it is the beauty of steemit that women and men are just consider as people. There is no discrimination of rights of men and women in steemit. If someone has the abilities and potential to do the work then he or she can make a huge progress in this platform.

If a women is more hard working and passionate to do work then he may also lead the team in steemit as we have seen many times in steemit. If we take an example of men and women in Pakistan the person @huzaifanaveed1 who is male and he is very hard working man in Pakistan related to steemit platforms he is now the country representative of Pakistan. It is all due to his great and hardworking efforts. @suboohi who is female also a country representative of Pakistan due to his exceptional work .

So I would like to say that anyone who is hard working and have passion to learn can work in steemit and make progress.
