My daughter and I
Last weekend was truly a memorable one. Why was it so special to me, well let me tell you in detail how it began.
I woke up very early in the morning and behold it was my my in-law traditional marriage so we join hands together to do house chores. Thereafter I prepared breakfast while hubby ironed our clothes and cleaned our shoes for the occasion. We planned leaving very early so we can reach the village and join everyone at once.

While we were preparing my sister who was the cake designer arrives with the cake and we were happy she delivered it as promised, so I took a photograph of it.

We arrived very early at the venue and my hubby went to dress up his brother while I and my sister sat down to talk about some things we saw around. We also help in some things that we were able to do before the marriage began.

The marriage guest started arriving and later my father in-law came so the marriage program started. The MC displayed very well and it was fun all through, as tradition demands the in-laws were welcome with different kinds of traditional food and I was the one that served the family I was really busy to take some photographs of those sumptuous meals that were available. We ate to our satisfaction then finally the real marriage procession began.
The groom was called to come in and greet people so he came like the odugwu of the day. Thereafter the bride was also brought in by the women and they both took drinks to their family as tradition demands. The both parents accepted the marriage and bless their children.
Then it was time for the proper handing over of the bride to the groom by the brides family.
Handing over
As tradition demands the brides family will confirm that the groom has given them all their traditional rites before they give out their daughter. So the confirmed it and then hand over their daughter to the groom. Is was really a joyful day, I was happy that I have additional mate to the house. We took her home to the village and officially welcome her to the family.

My father in-law brought out chicken and goat for the celebrations with assorted drinks. We ate and jubilate till night falls.

The following day which was Sunday, after meeting we finished our celebrations with the goat meat, then we went back home to our different destinations that evening.
I used this opportunity to signed up one of my mate in steemit (my hubby brothers wife) @lovinah she was really interested to join so I assisted her make her introductory post in the village before I left.
It was a beautiful moment and a memorable one in the village. I wish the married people well, may they enjoy themselves and may they experience all the good things that comes with marriage.

It was a beautiful moment with my in-laws in the village we ate and gist, my father in-law was the happiest man on earth seeing his children and their wife and grand children spending weekend with him. He was really happy.
I would say you had a lovely and wonderful day. Everything about this traditional marriage looks awesome. As a cake lover, i really did miss this cake.. i like the design of the cake. The couple look good too and i think i love their choice of clothing. Okay going back to the food on this table; So all this goat meat was finished by a group of people..I think mine should be sent for me.

Marriage is the union of two people and two families to live in peace, prosperity and happiness. A beautiful and very sacred moment that we really should immortalize. Congratulations to your little sister, I hope you can have a harmonious family and soon have a nephew.

A lovely diary, I love traditional marriages the details just speaks alot. The meat really got my attention, my mom really loves the yam and goat meat pepper soup I think it's one of her favourite.
