Black Bird vs Herons
I took these pictures about five days ago. They depict what I think was a fun moment in my daily walks. Ok, I saw this gray brownish colored heron, I am not really sure what its name is, so I decided to take a few pictures of it. But just as I got near enough a crow (or some kind of black bird) landed nearby and that dark heron started running for its life with that blackbird behind. Things got so bad for the heron that it headed for the sea water. I guess it did not fly because probably that black bird woyld have downed it.
But just as it was nearly in the sea, a white heron appeared. and this white heron was not afraid of the black bird, in fact the white heron attacked. The black bird was seriously cowed by this white heron and just went humiliated for a walk down the beach. The dark heron flew away and the white one stayed on the beach I guess watching that the black bird would not go after the dark one. See what I am doing here? Mainly because I know nothing about birds, I am naming them by their colors.
OK, I learned a few things here. The first thing I already knew because i have been attacked by black birds countless times. so know this, black birds are mean, Second dark feathered herons, at least this type are cowards. And third, white herons are the real deal, they will attack when threatened and are not afraid of black birds. So, I do think this was kind of fun to watch, entertaining, and I learned something. Also, none of the characters involved were hurt. You can see that the sea was kind of rough so I am glad not one of these birds made for it.
