Visiting the Farmer Tantoh Ecovillage in Bamenda- Cameroon
I was inspired to take young people in my home town Bamenda to visit an ecovillage set up by an incredible grassroot environmentalist, volunteer and farmer in the Person of Tantoh Dieudonne .
During the tour at this ecovillage, with the help of NetImpact Bamenda Professional chapter, i brought together about 25 youths to come an learn about organic farmer, hoticulter, animal rearing, storage and processing of food and gardening. The beautiful tour around the ecovillage gave youths the opportunity to learn about the Hydofoam house, which regulates temperature . That is when places are cold, its warm inside and when places are warm, its fresh inside.
Farmer Tantoh as he fondly calls himself showed the curious young people how to detect water sources using an ancient technique , employed by Indians by criss crossing to metal rods which will intersect atop a soil surface where water is found. This technique is used by water engineers know where water is found , before drilling bore holes.

At the end of the ecological tour at the Farmer Tantoh's Ecovillage, the youths were encouraged to plant a tree as a symbol of their visit at the ecovillage.
"No Farmer No Future" These are the words of Farmer Tantoh.. Africa must be Transformed.
do meditation and invite new people (youth) to know and be motivated so that they can set an example to build their villages that are environmentally friendly. This is an interesting thing to protect nature and the surrounding environment. Thank you for sharing @gentlewest
