Quality time spent in the Meadows of Jesus, Yusmarg. A place to stay at to stay away from any outside disturbance.

Greetings, dear friends, how are you all? I hope you all are fine and enjoying your day. I wish for you all good health and beautiful time ahead.Today I will share with you some beautiful time spent together with my friends with my friends at one of the famous tourist destinations we have in Kashmir.

It was a bright shiny sunday, when we set off for a trip to the beautiful meadows of Jesus located at a distance of about 35 km from our place. The place is situated in the west of Srinagar, the capital of Union territory of Jammu and Kashmir. Located in the temperate zone, the whole valley has a favourable climate and a number of tourist places makes it a huge range of options to go for when one thing of spending some time out in the nature. It being a holiday, we not only decided to spend some time in the beautiful atmosphere of the place, but also arranged a cricket match over there in the beautiful cricket ground of Yousmarg. On departure from our village, we left in three cars and took our cricket Kits with us. We opted for a short, but not that well maintained route towards the place, and it was a different experience altogether. I not only got to see a new route to the place but also got an opportunity to see some villages, which I have only heard of but had never visited.
While we were on way towards the place, I lost my route because the other two cars had a left the village around half an hour before, and I was a little late to leave because I already had gone to some other part of the district early in the morning to meet one of our relatives who had to leave for Saudi Arabia for the annual Muslim pilgrimage, the Hajj.

Eventually, after a ride of about 1 1/2 hour, we reached the place and just as we got out of the car, actual enjoyment started there. We had some local snacks called masala from a vendor who had just started settling near the play field. It was a happy commencement of business for him because we bought around 30 pieces together at the start as we all had left our places without eating much.We were
his first customers and he gave us a few pieces free.

It was at around 12 PM when we started the match, and unfortunately for us, we lost the toss and were put to field by the opposition team. We would have batted first if we would have won the toss, but it’s a part of the game and eventually we lost the match by 10 runs. It was all because of some rash shots by me and my other friend that we couldn’t reach the set target and were disappointed with the result.

After the match got over, we left for the central part of the place which is mainly occupied by the tourists during the summer days.

It’s the most beautiful part of the area with vast green meadows with undulating textures and soft grass cover, which gives a feeling of carpet beneath the feet when one more across. It is perfectly named the Meadows of Jesus as the meadows are quite clean and the atmospheres soothing. It’s Forest cover around the meadows gives it a pleasing appearance and also keeps the temperature of the place a little lower than the other surrounding areas. A lot of local and foreign tourists can be seen here, enjoying the beauty of the place along with the horse rides offered by the horseman who have made it a profession and earn their livelihood out of the services they offer to the tourists. The tourist can be seen quite satisfied with the way the Horsemen provide their services and the place has now become a hub of horse riding and, visiting Yousmarg without enjoying a horse ride is always termed to be an incomplete trip.

It was only me and one of my friends who went to visit the place and others left right after the match got over. We had some food in one of our friends restaurant, and after we were done with the dining, we left to enjoy the beauty of the place. We went towards one of the corners of the place from where a famous river called DoodhGanga flows. It’s usually a cooler spot in the whole place, and it has become our go to place whenever we decide spending some time in actual serenity and solitude.

Later in the day, we returned home and took a different route so as to be aware of the shortcut routes leading to the place as we usually spend our holidays there. It was quite a wonderful time to spend there in Yusmarg because of the lovely atmosphere of the place and more over the place offers complete isolation from the commotion of day to life because it does not have any mobile network, which actually is a good thing as per my opinion because spending holidays without any disturbance from the outside world is the best.
