The Diary Game for Sunday, 21st July 2024 || A day well spent

For most people,Sunday is a day of rest. They use their Sunday to reflect on the past week and make plans for the week ahead. Some spend time with family and friends. Mine is no exception.

I woke up feeling happy today. I actually slept in till about 7:30 which is unlike me. I got up and did my routine house chores like sweeping the rooms and sitting room, dusting the furniture and washing the dishes. When I was done with doing them, I began to make breakfast.

I usually have Spaghetti for breakfast on Sundays. This is because of the convenience as it is relatively easy to prepare and also , over the years my family has adopted the idea of having it for breakfast. Today,I decided to try something new. I made a delicious bean porridge. Although my mother was sceptical, as it would be time consuming especially with the little time we had before heading to meeting.
I was up to the task.

Let me tell you a little bit on how I prepared the bean porridge. I washed the beans and put in a clean pot with boiling water. I allowed the beans to get a little bit soft . Then, I added ingredients like palm oil, sliced onions, pepper, salt and a little crayfish to add flavor. The result?

Although it's a little bit overcooked, I still enjoyed my bean porridge. I ate it with soaked cassava flakes (commonly known as garri) . You can try the combo, I can assure you, you'll love it . On a scale of one to ten, I rate my bean porridge an eight (8).

After eating, I hurriedly had my bath and headed to the meeting with my parents. At the meeting, we learn about God and also have the privilege of praising him by singing melodious songs .We also praise God by giving upbuilding comments. I enjoy attending meetings because it provides the opportunity to exchange greetings with and encourage our Christian brothers and sisters.

I really enjoyed the meeting as I was rejuvenated and I can't wait to attend the next one.

I got home and tidied up the kitchen. I had lunch and continued a novel which I had started to read the previous day. Later, in the evening I had dinner. Then, I proceeded to write about my day.

I really enjoyed my Sunday and I can proudly say that it was a day well spent.
