Finding your purpose in life and on Steemit in 2024

When you think about your purpose, it is all about the legacy that you want to leave behind and the goals you want to achieve that will give you that purpose.

At the beginning of the year, people grab pen and paper and start writing their goals for the year. For me, it should be the total opposite. You should begin with the end in mind. What is it that you want to leave behind in 2024? It is to establish your purpose and then start ruffling it down to what it will take to get you there.

Finding your purpose or meaning in life is not something that you start at the beginning of your life but as you grow up. I know of many people who only set their purpose in life when they were of age, especially when they were close to retirement. All of a sudden, their goals and what they want to achieve have changed. They have a new purpose they have awakened to.

One of the main things you need in life to make it a success is a gift, a personal gift. What are your gifts that you can share with your family, friends, colleagues, and even the world? It is your gifts that will help you make a meaningful impact on not only your life but also the lives of others.

You might want to ask me what a personal gift is, so let me answer it before it is asked. A gift is when you look at your natural talents and strengths. Often, you will find it when people tell you that you have a gift for doing something. They will compliment you or acknowledge you for what you have done. It is that natural talent of yours.

“Don’t tell me that you don’t have a gift.” These were my mom’s words when I was young. She always told us three kids that we all have a talent. The way you set the table, the way you arrange your home, the way you arrange those flowers and the way you dress. These are all examples of talents.

It is not a surprise that it is no different from Steemit. Here you also have to find your purpose, set goals, and use your natural gift or even gifts.

You need to perform according to your talents, those things that brings the best out of you.

Today I share with you 7 steps on how to find your purpose.

1️⃣ Ask yourself where you have made a meaningful contribution to not only your life but the lives of others. What do people acknowledge you for? It is what I call “finding that sweet spot.”

In Steemit:

Look at your posts and the comments of users and determine which type of post gets you the most credit.

2️⃣ Also, ask yourself how you can take a situation and make sense of it. In other words, what have you learned that can help you later, should the same situation arise?

In Steemit:

We all make mistakes in Steemit. Of importance is what you have learned from these mistakes and how you can rectify them. Time and time again, I see posts where Steemians feel depressed about receiving support. Look for where you went wrong, learn from it, and fix it.

3️⃣ Next, I like to call it “challenge the status quo.” You might be in your comfort zone, and it is time to stretch yourself and get out of it. So often, we think we cannot do it. We will not know unless we have given it a try.

In Steemit:

It is time that you take that next step in 2024. Push yourself and enter those contests that you never thought of entering and write about those topics you never dared to write about in the past.

4️⃣ Think of your role models and your mentors. Having a role model, or even more than one, can play a very important part in our lives. They are the ones who can encourage, inspire, and often support us. So often, they are the ones with the same morals and values as us.

In Steemit:

I will go as far as to say that having role models in Steemit is crucial. When I returned to Steemit after years of absence, I didn’t have a clue where to start. I posted various posts, following a bunch of people, but got nowhere.
It was only when I started creating role models for myself that I started experiencing success. I watched, and I learned from them. After two years since my return, I still learn from them.

5️⃣ Embrace your journey. Life has its ups and downs. Yes, my friends, there is no perfect life that is straightforward. In all of our lives, there are uphills and downhills, and we are not going to change them. Sometimes the uphill feels more like a mountain, but you will eventually get to the top. Take hold of each situation and make the most of it.

In Steemit:

Just like with your life, Steemit is a journey. Now, you can either hate it or you can love it. It is only with the latter that you will enjoy it.

• Write each post for yourself and not for others.
• Count each vote as a bonus, not a must.
• Support your fellow Steemians because you enjoy it, not for the challenge.

It is only you who can make the most of your Steemit journey; embrace it.

6️⃣ Don’t think about age as a limit. People think they are too young to start with an extra income, or they think they are too old to change their career or start something new. Here is the beauty: success is not determined by age. Success is determined by the individual.

In Steemit:

Age also doesn’t count in Steemit. I read posts by the young and old of heart on a daily basis, and there is absolutely no difference in performance.

For you, that level on Steemit might be the “age restriction.” Guess what? It is not a restriction, but a motivation.
With all things in life, you have to learn and climb if you want to get to the top. It is only you who can determine how quickly you climb. Make no mistake, it comes at a price, and that is hard work and determination.

Today, I climbed that ladder. I am now at level 78, and I am loving every moment of it. Best of all, I am now even more motivated to start the next climb.

7️⃣ Refrain your mindset. Change your mindset today! The experts will tell you that if you change your mindset, you will reduce your stress levels and enhance your health, and you can only strengthen your ability to overcome obstacles in your life if you change your way of thinking. Guess what? They are not wrong! Change your mindset today!

What about Steemit?

My dear friends, it is the mindsets of Steemians that are hindering them from embracing their Steemit journey, climbing those ladders, and making success with their accounts. Pause, think, and take control of your Steemit journey!

They say that people are not the same. Well, I have learned that in Steemit we are ALL the same. We all have our ups and downs; we all feel negative at times, and most of us open Steemit first thing in the morning to see what happened in our accounts overnight. We are all humans, and we are all Steemians.

Let’s find our purpose right now and make the most of 2024!
This we can do if we have a purpose when we write a post, purpose when we give a vote, purpose when we give a comment, and a purpose when we build our accounts.
