The Diary Game | 29-3-2026 | - Rushing to Church, Sunday Rice & A Message I Couldn’t Ignore

Hello everyone,
Happy Sunday! Hope your day has been calm and refreshing… because mine started on a bit of a fast lane

I woke up just before 8am, and immediately I opened my eyes, I knew one thing—
there was no time to waste.
Next thing, I was already preparing, moving up and down like someone being chased

By 8:19am, I was already out of the house, heading for an 8:30am service.
That kind of timing?
You already know I was calculating every minute in my head like
“God abeg, just help me not to be late”
Finally got to church, settled down… and service started.

At first, everything felt normal.
But as the message went on, I just found myself sitting up more seriously.
Because today’s message?
It wasn’t something you just hear and forget.
It was about sacrifice and success… and honestly, it was hitting too close to home.

The pastor said something early that just set the tone:
“Success has a price tag.”
And immediately after that:
“Sacrifice is the demand for success.”

That alone already tells you everything.
Because if we’re being honest… We all want success, but nobody really likes the stress that comes with it

He started breaking it down in simple ways:
Sacrifice is not just suffering for nothing—
it’s choosing to delay enjoyment now for something better later.

Like:
Saying no to comfort today
Letting go of something good
So you can get something even better tomorrow
That part made me pause small…
Because a lot of times, we choose what feels good now, without thinking of later.

Then he said:
“Don’t fake it… make it.”
I won’t lie, that one hit direct.
Because this generation likes packaging a lot

But real success? You can’t fake it.
Another line that stayed with me:
"When you see the glory, don’t jump to it… find the story.”

Meaning
don’t just admire someone’s results, understand what they went through to get there.
Because behind every “soft life” you’re seeing…
there’s a story of sacrifice somewhere.

He also said something that made a lot of sense:
“Success can’t be bought on credit.”
No shortcuts.
No borrowing results.
You have to pay your price fully.

And one line I really liked:
** “Don’t jump up… climb up.”**
Because anything you rush to, you can easily lose.
But when you grow step by step,
you actually become strong enough to sustain it.

Towards the end, he said something very real: Every single day, you’re either moving closer to success… or moving away from it.
And it’s those small, small things we do daily that add up over time.
That one made me reflect properly.
After service, stepping outside just felt calm…

You know that peaceful Sunday feeling?
People greeting each other, no rush, just soft vibes.
Got home… and I won’t lie, one thing was already on my mind

Food.
And not just any food—
Sunday rice.

This one was serious oh
Rice with stew on one side and sauce on the other side…
Whoever designed that combo?
God bless you
It tasted so good, I didn’t even talk much while eating.
Just focused
After that, I still went ahead to take some pineapple…

Very necessary decision 😅
Now let me confess something funny 😂
At some point today, I wore a wig cap inside the house…

And the way everybody was looking at me?
Like I had lost it.
Someone even asked me what exactly I was trying to do.
Honestly… I didn’t even have a clear answer.
Just vibes

The rest of the day has been calm.
Just relaxing, replaying the message in my head, and thinking about how it actually applies to real life.
Because if I’m being honest…
that message is not something you just hear and move on from.

It really made me think about discipline, consistency, and the small sacrifices we avoid every day.
Because at the end of it all,
anything meaningful will require you to give something up.

So yeah… today wasn’t just about rushing to church or enjoying food.
It was one of those days that quietly makes you reflect on your life.

How was your Sunday? And be honest—are you more of “instant enjoyment” or “delayed gratification”?
