The Diary Game - A Slow Sunday: Cleaning, Rice & A Painful Match 22/03/2026

Hello everyone šŸ‘‹
Happy Sunday to you all, I hope your day went well and peaceful.

Today didn’t exactly start the way I planned it.

I woke up feeling weak and a bit uneasy, and that already set the tone for the morning. The plan was clear from yesterday—I had even ironed my clothes, ready to attend service.

But when morning came… my body just wasn’t agreeing.

So instead of forcing it, I stayed back and joined the service online. Not the same feeling as being in church physically, but at least I didn’t miss out completely.

After the service, I looked around the house and reality hit me again

Yesterday’s cooking had left the kitchen in a state… pots, plates, little stains here and there—basically, work waiting for someone.

And somehow… that someone became me.

So I got to it.

I started cleaning, arranged things, and then went ahead to mop the kitchen properly. At some point, I just stood there thinking,
ā€œIs this really how my Sunday is going?ā€

One thing led to another, and before I knew it, I was already washing plates and pots.

Now let me be honest—
that’s one chore I don’t like at all.

But since I didn’t go to church, it almost felt like I had to make up for something… so I just kept going

By the time I was done, I was already tired.
And funny enough, I hadn’t even eaten anything since morning.

No breakfast. Nothing.

So I decided to fix that quickly.

I boiled rice, warmed the stew, and just like that—Sunday rice and stew was ready

Simple, but it hit differently after all that work.

After eating, I finally got some time to relax a bit.

Later on, I stepped out with my brother and we got a few new clothes—some shirts and trousers. Nothing too serious, just something fresh to add to the wardrobe.

We got back just in time for football ⚽

And honestly, this was one match I was looking forward to—
Arsenal FC vs Manchester City FC in the Carabao Cup final.

The pressure was all on Arsenal to deliver…

But football can be very funny.

They ended up losing 2-0, and both goals came in the second half—from one player, O’Reilly.

I just sat there like…
ā€œAfter all this hype?ā€

To wrap up the day, dinner was something solid—Afang soup and garri

After everything I did today, I definitely deserved that one

Also, tomorrow is my sister’s birthday
I’m actually looking forward to it, and trust me—I’ll be back here to give you all the full gist

Final Thoughts

Today wasn’t exactly how I planned it, but it turned out productive in its own way.

From resting, to cleaning, to cooking, small outing, and ending it with football…
it was a full day in its own style.

As we step into a new week, I just want to wish everyone:
A peaceful and productive week ahead

And before I go—

Did you watch the match? What do you think went wrong for Arsenal?
