Following this day, we were informed that the strike action taken by health professionals has been suspended in all federal hospitals across the state in the country.

Well it was good news because patients can now access the facility and get good medical care from any health practitioner.

I was excited to get to work again at the hospital after almost two weeks of no work.

I could feel the revivement in patients who knew hospital workers were back.

On arrival, I reported to the accident and emergency department. A book was signed to indicate what time we resumed work.

At my department, a lot of documentation, costing, and pharmaceutical care was done.

I was specifically assigned by my unit head for the documentation and costing.

During documentation, we take note of drugs on the shelves, those which have expired will be retrieved and those near expiry will be sold out first.

During costing, all prescriptions will be costed for, bills made were necessary and ready to be dispensed.

Another colleague of mine was assigned the patient counseling for this day.

After our assigned duty and task for the day, my unit head took time to explain various concepts of reproductive health particularly, misoprostol dosages. This is because we would be having cases requiring this drug in subsequent time, so it was pertinent we learn about it now.

As a recap,

The world health organization recommends that misoprostol is to be used for the prevention of postpartum hemorrhage where oxytocin is not available or cannot be safely used. Excluding the presence of a twin before the administration.

This drug isn't to be used in the previous cesarean section. (See a licensed gynecologist).

This and many more were discussed. I'll drop a chat which was shown to us and I believe will be of benefit to any health worker or practitioner reading this post, especially in Nigeria.

The lecture was very practical and very relatable as it was a known and very familiar drug around us. We all jotted important points as was said.

Ward round to visit the patients in their ward was suspended this day, due to the fact that patients were not in the ward as an effect of the strike action of health workers.

A lot of patients had left the hospital to other private clinics or even pharmacy outlets to lay complaints and get their drugs. So we hope that in a few days, patients will be back to the ward and we can carry out a successful ward round.

Gradually, we worked till it was the official closing time, and we were set to leave the premises.

I had to return home, get a good rest and eat, as there was no break time at work, due to the congested schedule at work.

I boarded a cap back home, got the rest I needed. Soon it was nightfall and I began writing my diary game.

I am glad the strike has been call off. It's a little risky seeing people roaming around in search of a place for medication. That isn't funny at all.

Thank you for sharing your activities, it contains some interesting and useful information.

citizens can now access health care with ease, we hope health workers do not engage in another strike.

Thank you for finding time to read through.

Medications are truly good for our recovery when we are not well. It becomes very difficult if we do not take medication to recover.

I am also happy about the fact that your strike have been called off.

Thanks for sharing.

Alot of people are not aware of the dangers involved in neglecting their medication. I hope everyone gets enlightened.
