Pigeon friendship

in STEEM FOR BETTERLIFE2 months ago

One day, my life took a temporary turn when I had to spend some time in a hospital room. The environment was calm and quiet, but one window became my escape from boredom and loneliness.

Outside the window, there was an open space where birds were flying freely and the fresh wind was blowing through the trees. It was there that I first noticed a small gray pigeon, shyly staring at me through the glass. I decided to offer it a piece of bread, carefully placing it on the windowsill. At first, the bird watched me warily from a distance, but gradually it ventured closer and accepted the offering.

Every day, we spent more time together. I would bring bread specifically for my new friend, and he would wait for me by the window, cooing happily and pacing impatiently. Soon, other guests began to arrive—large white pigeons that resembled angels, and small black birds with curious eyes. They would gather around my tiny bird feeder, forming a bustling community filled with joy and companionship.

These moments were special to me. They reminded me of the simple pleasures of life, of kindness and care for one another. Watching the birds, I felt a part of the larger world of nature, where every small act matters.

After a while, my health improved, and it was time to return home. However, before leaving, I left a small supply of bread near the window, hoping that my feathered friends would continue to visit and bring joy to future patients.

This story has taught me to appreciate every moment, to see beauty even in ordinary things, and to understand the importance of paying attention and being kind to others. Sometimes, the smallest actions can bring joy and happiness to many people.

What a heartwarming story, @strawberrry. 🕊️ The bond you formed with the pigeon truly reflects the beauty of kindness and connection between humans and nature. Even a small act, like sharing bread, can create moments of joy and healing. Your story beautifully reminds us that compassion always finds its way back in the most unexpected forms.
