Mengundang @zul01, @syidah01 @rissi

#betterlife #comment #curators

What you say is true. A good memory is needed if it comes to being a curator.

A curator should remember if he read a post before and where. Also should s/he be able to recognize a change in writing style or the use of words and check the account if his/her instinct tells something is foul.

The more you read the easier it gets to recognize but also remember good and bad writers.

With your comment you hit the nail on its head if it comes to 01 and 02 and how they upvote. We may expect they read enough to know who to upvote and who not and with that the question arises: how can someone who hardly reads be a good curator?

I've always said that the best foundation for a curator is being a moderator first.
If your admin has trained you to be a good moderator, you will be the best curator.
I have curators that completed my moderator guidelines, and you can go look at them. They are doing a fantastic job with curating.

I did not apply to be a curator for the month of August, but every week I have curators running to me to help them or to give them advice.

We all swim in the wide ocean, and as we swim, we grow. (•

I agree with you that training is needed I also keep eondering what is checked. I noticed many different methods of moderating. 🤔

Also the questiom is how strict does a curator wants to be.

Umh.. maybe that is what we need, a training community and every 3 months you start with new moderators.
It might be worth looking into.

Lekker dag! 🧁

Absolutely, you’ve touched on some excellent points.
If someone usually doesn’t read much, it raises valid concerns about their ability to curate effectively.
Besides reading, it’s crucial to have a good understanding of the platform’s workings and some experience, which is always helpful.
Being a curator is demanding; it’s necessary to identify suspicious styles in posts and also the use of images.
Fortunately, there are tools that detect the use of AI and the originality of posts, as well as tracing the origin of images.
Of course, it would be ideal if all Steemians were honest and used only their own abilities without copying and pasting from other posts, but I understand that this is impossible..

I asked a few who wanted me in their team:
Show me the tools you use to check om plagiarism and AI written text... I thought it would be a good idea to use the same.
It became awkwardly silent... I am still waiting 😐

I understand that checking posts before voting them takes a lot of time.
But apart from known users with a high reputation who follow all the rules and clubs, most users need to be checked for safety.
To avoid rewarding users who do not deserve it.
But with the help of all the online tools to detect plagiarism and the use of A.I.'s such as duplicecker, neuralwriter, etc. the mistakes are fewer and fewer.
Too bad, though, that there are careless curators.

I see posts I know they are not written by the author. The (free) tools cannot find anything odd. Still rewarding those posts?

I can speak for myself. I make use of some tools and if they confirm to me that the post is not made by I.A. and is not plagiarism or an image is not stolen, I vote for it. More than that I cannot do.

You know not all the tools show the same, not what is published in books and if a few mistakes are made the tools are not able to recognize AI? Also too few words or too many can be a problem.

I wonder: how about instinct and check what the author in average writes? It's a bit odd if all conyent is badly written with one exception the new entries of poetry. Great grammar, markdowns 👍
It makes me think.

I don’t know about others, but as someone who struggled to get upvotes in my early days, I see “Steem curators” as my “reliever” since I returned.

Steem curators might not be perfect since they are controlled by humans, but they are the only ones who have evenly distributed upvotes
among Steemians compared to when it was in the hands of some few whales and dolphins.
It's normal for us to complain about them sometimes, but we should also keep in mind that economics is at play in the system.

To regulate Steem, curators can’t upvote us all the time to avoid an excessive supply of Steem, which would reduce its value. As long as you meet the requirements of Steemit, you’ll be on the radar of Steem curators.

I will be inviting @uduak3287 @bela90 and @vickyson

Oh my, I see all kinds of colours. I smell a topic... "kissing all sorts of asses" how to define that in one word?

I admit you know how to catch readers!

What do you think @jiva34 @vwrites @inspiracion @ibesso?
Should we kiss or resist? It reminds me of a contest of boylikegirl.club 🐈‍⬛

The way I see it:
Ethical life has rules. But since we are dealing with energy and not concrete forms (everything is constantly changing) What might be appropriate in one instance is not appropriate in another. The underlying rule is: Do the needful.
You certainly do have a nose for thought-provoking topics.

🤣🤣🤣
Sorry, you made me laugh with your remark about having a nose for thought-provoking topics.

Perhaps I should stop before everbody starts thinking.

 3 months ago (edited)

Edit: ()

Actually saying "kissing all sorts of asses" is not a very nice thing, @sbamsoneu, it seems that you can do anything above your own ethics for money, and that is not nice... 🤔

My bad… it was just a figurative statement!! No disrespect intended. I was only expressing how hard it was to get the attention of whales and dolphins.

You are also an old timer and you know very well that to succeed in steemit back then, your community or WhatsApp group you were part of was just minimal.

You also needed the influence of this big guys to get into limelight and that is only possible through engagement and since the competition was very high then,, your engagement with their post have to be spectacular.

But with steemcurators on board now, things have changed a lot.

Oh my, I see all kinds of colours. I smell a topic... "kissing all sorts of asses" how to define that in one word?

@wakeupkitty… I never get tired of your funny comments 😂😂😂😂 but I’d to edit my comment and make a little adjustment..

Oh no dear, don't change anything. There's no need. I was trying to see what my friend meant, and I already understood...😅

So don't worry everything is fine! It's okay to be honest, and of course I understand you... Sorry if there was a little confusion😊

No problem ma’am..😊

I agree, leave it the way it is, expressions make language vivid and for sure you described what more than one did and still tries.

Just brush your teeth and tong, disinfect your mouth because hygiene is important!

You know I always appreciate your comments, you are committed and dare to say what others only gossip about while backstabbing and smiling in your face.

To be taken serious one has to paint a picture about the experiences on Steemit. Did you read what @solperez wrote in SCB? There's a topic list I am sure you can find it.

@jiva34---- 2 steem
@blessedlife----- 2 steem
@abnerpantoja---- 2 steem

Saludos.

The technology is great when it's working.... When it's not working it's a mess. We've come to depend so much on it. Eagerly awaiting Art and Writing...
The suggestion of choosing a poem and poet is interesting. Worth a try for sure.

The new Art & Writing is online... and you call me thought-provoking. Do not forget to post in the right community!

Oh yes! I had responded to you first very quickly and I went on to something else hahaha...

But I'm already grasping the thread of what you tell me😅

It's good to hear that 🤣🤣

Steemit's curators play a role that every Steemian is familiar with. I think Its a responsibility of all of us.

From reading posts to ensuring the quality of the content and verifying its originality, and checking if it's not a copy-paste job or AI-generated content. And then , to upvote and comment on it. If they feel that the post's writer needs guidance, they gently provide it. These are the responsibilities of a Steemit curator.

If we talk about big(steem) curators (like Sc01, Sc02) who have significant power, they not only read posts but also comments. Their role is like a beacon of light in the dark. Their mere vote is enough to encourage users to improve their work..

I liked your curiosity. And if I share my thoughts, Not only you but everyone is curious about SC01 and SC02.

But here I'd like to ask you a question. Suppose you were in the role of SC01 or 02, would you only support a select few by voting for them? Certainly not.

They would surely prefer to visit quality posts without any bias.

The answer to your 2nd question is that 'no matter how much effort we do, it's not necessary for SC01 or 02 to always vote on our posts'. Because they have to visit many posts on a large platform, and as I think, they are also aware that they sometimes miss to support many quality posts.

No, my friend, you don't have to wait. Waiting is a very tiring task.

Instead, shine so bright with your excellent content that it attracts the curators' attention towards you!

I wish your success and growth on steemit .

 3 months ago (edited)

I am afraid that always is impossible just like anyone who upvotes or curators (you and me) time is limited and there's no computer searching for content.

Being noticed, engagement is important. I no longer post everywhere for different reasons. To mention some:

  1. The community makes me feel uncomfortable
  2. My niche does not fit to the face expressed by the community
  3. My post will go unnoticed or end up on a pile of content I don't like to seen/associatedted with.
  4. I do not like the contests and all the restrictions
  5. There's no fun and nothing to read/see

So my question is: Where do you like to be?
Find your place and you'll see it affects you in a positive way. If you join the right people you might be easily noticed and receive a rewarding upvote.

Very well explained bro . Your knowledge is adorable. I also get to know more about curators☺️

Thank you, but This is not a complete knowledge in my opinion. This is just experience-based information.

To know the reality behind the curators, I am curious myself. :-)

Hahah it means I don't know about much too because I didn't know about big curator ones what you mention. So it was informative for me for others idk😅

All curators should read and upvote comments and so should you and I. We are curators as well if we upvote and are rewarded for that.

Thats the thing we should understand and act according to it.

Curators, for me, are the eyes of the steemit platform. They're not just the eyes, they have eagle eyes. In different communities, these people see the best content, and in the end give support in the form of a reward to the content creators by voting for them. I'd say they work through delegated powers on steemit platform.

While we do our little reading and upvoting other people's posts, theirs is a little bit of a great support. In all of these, they reward great talents.

We all should have those eagle eyes and be on the look out. Even those who can hardly write can tell if they see something they like or not.

It's the same if it comes to music. If I can't sing I csn recognize if it's good and if it touches my soul.

@yaladeeds @fadthalib @xiao-aine @pousinha @amre what is your opinion or definition about a curator? Are you one?

A curator is very important in a platform like this and its cousins. To find quality content is a responsibility. My best wishes for all curators.

Is finding quality content a responsibility of curatord or is making oneself visible own responsibility?

Both of them, I suppose...in the case of curator, it's probably better to say it's a task...

And a difficult one. If following all criteria and you should find someone new you will not even find 1 per hour

That's true, we should also see good posts and appreciate them

Exactly you are right. It is great to give rewards . And it is the toughest responsibility and needs time to verify other posts upvoting clarifying rather it is AI or original.

Thank you for reading

Your welcome 🤗

I think the role of Steemit Curators is to maintain the quality of content on the platform, select and promote works that deserve attention. With the Steemit Curator Team, it can help create a fair ecosystem by providing support to creators, encouraging interaction, and ensuring that the rewards given are in accordance with user contributions.

In my perspective, the Curator Team should be returned to the way it used to be, namely the Burn Team, Comment Team, Newcomer Team and other teams.

I invite @rahmadhidayat01 @juanda95 @rinamareta22 to kindly provide comments here.

Thank you in advance for inviting me to participate in the comment contest, I will take the time to take part in this contest,
I really agree with your opinion that the Steemit curator team works as before, namely there is a burn team, a newcomer team, a comment team and other teams.
success in this challenge.

Thank you for your kind response

Very well explained ☺️

Do you believe only good content is upvoted?

What if it turns out you are not good?

I don't believe it.

In fact, I see that there is bad content but it gets votes. Many steemians, especially from my country, write posts that are not in accordance with the correct spelling of words, but they get votes from the curator team and also boom. They get it by only knowing each other with the curator, often sitting together and even having to treat food if they want to get votes.

What I said is true because I was once asked to treat a curator if my content wanted to be selected as a top post. I trust the curator team from outside my country more because they provide support according to the recommended criteria.

I believe my content has good quality because every writing about the diary game is based on the activities I do and is proven by photos. And also I write according to the spelling of words that have been refined in my country. My job every day is to write content about the diary game, about support I leave it to the steemit team and I will never complain about it. Once again, I believe in the quality of my content is good

I noticed the same also if it comes to contests and it baffles me. Also I noticed many hosts of contests their posts are never moderated. This is wrong. They should give an example and not being rewarded for a badly written post.

As long as you are proud on what you write it is good because you added a part of you in it and that will be noticed.

Never pay for a favour there are plenty of communities welcoming you.

Yes, I am the most anti paying someone for help and I will never do that. For now I will not share content for a while on the community where the admin gives awards to bad writing (more often giving awards only to their friends who happen to live in the same village and are willing to buy what they want).

Sorry, if my comment is too revealing of the existing facts and that is the reality that I often see 🙏🙏

 3 months ago (edited)

First of all I would like to thanks @wakeupkitty to allow us to participate.

Curator rewards the steemians with the best posts. They have major role . They help Steemians by giving instructions to make their posts valuable and attractive. They label the posts if the content is copy paste from Google or other resources. They always support original and AI free posts .Steemit platform select some Steemians who are hardworking and have higher SP . For the selection Steemians apply application to the platform as a group to select.

How about us? Shouldn't we all work this way and upvote? We all have the chance to do so. If not, where will a moderator or curator find how to work and get the experience or should it be more a guts feeling?

That's right we all work hard to get more success. Every Steemian starts with 0 to reach its 100 . We all work hard we all upvote and support each other. Just like the PM of country donot work all by himself. The vice president the people on higher and lower posts and sanitary people we all work for the progress of country just it is as like steemit platform we all work hard and deserve appreciation and clapping for our own selves too .

Exactly, so start the applaud and let's celebrate and act as if we all are curators!

A part of what you described is the role of a moderator. For example, instructions to improve a post and labeling an account or post if it is AI-generated text or plagiarism.

Oh thanks for letting me know ☺️. Besides moderators I thought it was curators work too.

curators have no access to communities to label but they can have their own list with...

Steem curator from my little experience and knowledge so far on the platform are individuals who are selected and appointed to perform certain duties mostly as a group.

To me me these are not just anybody or anyone, they are individuals who have not just been on the platform for a long time but they are have over time that they are serious, dedicated and hardworking on the platform by creating quality content, Engaging with other people content through meaningful conversation.

Their duties in the platform is not just to search for quality content or write ups but also to verify the accuracy and originality of the write up, that is if they are AI generated or it copied and pasted.

To illustrates, let's take the steemit platform to be a large room full of clothes all clean but of different grades. Now the duties of the curators is to pick out of those clothes, materials that are first grade so to speak and after that they appreciate these clothes by buying them(up voting) and by telling others about the quality of the material(resteeming).

Now with regards to curators with the tags like 01 and the rest, I think it has to do with levels and rank. These are highly ranked curators in the platform with a very high curating powers and influence.

Before you get an upvote from this group of curators that means that the write up must be of a high quality not just to a particular community but to the entire steemit platform as a whole.

As for me, my goal is to improve the quality of my content to the extent that I get the chance to be curated by this class of curators. I will to invite the following to Join me in this contest: @abijos, @skinnlyblack

You have explained about curators well dear 🤗

You explained it very well except that a Steemian has to apply first so no one will knock at the door and ask: Be the curator this time.

For September the rules changed (a try-out) and I wonder what you think about it. Will there be expertise and will readers and commenters be chosen or?

Hello, @everyone check the latest post from Steemblog the curator's list is out, if you don't see your name congratulate others your time is coming.

That made your heart beeped loud like the sound of an alarm clock right? 🙆Sorry I scared you but that is what is gonna happen when steemians hear the list is out. I hope it gonna be shocking people who never expected to see themselves there will, I feel that was the intention if not why would the system set a new rule allowing people like me who has not reach 5k steem and reputation 70 to apply, I see it as a great privelege for all whether they get it or not.

I wish all those creative post out there could get curated

 3 months ago (edited)

Will the heart beep because of the amount or will the chosen ones panick about how to manage next to a job, moderating, writing, learning how to curate (many never give an upvote themselves). Like @solperez said it is hard work and there's not much time to write yourself. Can curators say after 2 hours: sorry, it's enough? Or will they quickly click on every post they see in a community where no one has given an upvote yet?

We'll see how it will go, I hope something new will see the daylight and to discover more writers. I found several long before the curators did and it took me several weeks but they are active members now.

Good to read you and thanks for joining.

In my opinion, curators are "eagle eyes". They have to look carefully and well at their prey. Each post has its own characteristics from the author so that by just looking at someone's account name they will know whether it is worthy or not to be supported. In my opinion, their job is not as easy as we see or sometimes we think there are 7 curators with 2 kings of curators. There are many posts but the curator's job is tested again when they get many posts with certain countries or it has become a rule that curators must look for posts from various countries and with various tags from several communities or non-Communities. Being a curator must also be wise and see the potential of each post chosen even though it is a newcomer. If a post is very valuable because sometimes they write it with great struggle. Curators are a "hope" Where everyone is waiting for their presence and curators are also just ordinary people, they will see like eagles and of course their choices are included in the "can" criteria to be chosen.

I invite my friend @eglis @mini80 @solperez

I truly hope a curator will not only look at the name and upvote. I discovered many free writers and I found s way to unite them.
Interesting is that one of them is "discovered" two days ago by a curator. Discovered? If the curator would have visited the community that "discovery" would have happened earlier.

If it comes to the well known they will be found but it is a long search to the unknown. Many of them do not even use hashtags.
