Making me do some work. Had to look up what Wi-Fi is. "WIFI stands for Wireless Fidelity which is a wireless technology standard for wireless Internet access. It is used as a replacement for cable connections and other types of wires."

As an aid in facilitating communication on the internet it's terrific. I've heard that in other ages people could communicate telepathically, but we don't seem to be able to communicate very well even conversationally face to face in person. Anyway, sarcasm aside, wi-fi and the internet are very valuable for the present condition of human society.
Of course like anything else, it is double edge sword. How it is used... For good or for evil. There have been some issues raised about the Wi-Fi technology itself emitting harmful energy. Usually we have to take the good with the bad in everything.

The harmful side can be felt and I wonder if it is worth it. It is the reason why at night I unplug everything. It's not healthy to sleep among all those brain infecting waves and the phone is harmful as well (I switch it off).
The plus of the mobile wifi device is it is small and lasts for about 8 hours if the power is off and I can charge it with a powerbank (those things are extremely slow).

Yes. But I am currently planning to buy one of my own.
I didn't even own a smartphone up until a couple of years ago and still despise the whole experience. Not necessarily because of any health concerns, or because I was being afraid of the technology, I'm just stubborn. Anyway, I'm perfectly aware of how crazy that sounds, but I don't see the advantage. I'd rather use a proper computer and generally have nothing going on that couldn't wait a few hours until I'm back home. Then there's the whole possibility of losing it, along with who knows what, and then it's not even a comfortable carry. It's just an additional layer of complexity I don't need.
An now I lost my train of thought. Give me a second... 1.. 2... Only started using wifi up until recently and dislike the idea of having my balls dangling out in the open, so to speak. I'm being a bit flowery, just saying. Same goes for bluetooth.
By the way. Even if you deactivate your wifi your ISP might still use your router as a hotspot for mobile users. At least if you're using their hardware and not your own fritzbox or such.
I wasn't the first with a smartphone either, neither were my children except the eldest for work. We never needed one to call. Since my laptop broke I use the phone but I rarely take it along if I go shopping. It's fine with me if it stays home.
If it comes to old-fashioned, no one with us pays with the phone and if possible we use cash. If we are not allowed to pay with cash we leave without the groceries or whatever we bought.
I pull all plugs out the sockets and that works fine. The only benefit might be it saves us costs for calling or mainly my son, the rest of us rarely calls. A text or email and sooner or later an answer will arrive (if 6 weeks later it's fine too or not considered important).
It feels to me no one cares about sharing all the info or being hacked. The fear of being hacked is just "bad" if it comes to Steemit?

Back when I was a teenager I was interning for some electrician. Must've been... about... twenty years ago? Either way, we got into an argument about mass surveillance, which then turned into a fight. He genuinely thought it wasn't a concern of his, because of that "I've got nothing to hide" sentiment. Fair enough, but to me that always felt cheap. Like low effort thinking, or fucking horseshit rather. Pardon my french.
Yes, I don't care about your porn addiction either, but maybe there's more to surveillance than the goverment . Even if there wasn't, the good old "I've got nothing to hide" still seems disingenuous. Hell, if you're so law abidingly transparent, why not invite me over later tonight? I'll just see myself in and watch you fornicate with your secretary. I'm sure you won't be doing anything I haven't seen before. Maybe I'll chime in with some unsolicited advice, standing in the corner of your bedroom holding a clipboard. You've got nothing to hide, right!? Come on...
I'm being gross, of course. I'm just saying. Then there's the whole advertising issue and you being gamed by weird tech bros, who are playing the Sims with your life. Quite literally. So in giving them your data you're allowing them power over you. To nudge, prime, and frame while trying to accomplish some weird form of Utopia. Or whatever they came up with while microdosing LSD. I think this all might be related to the idea of cybernetics? Feedback systems and such that are treating human beings like a flow chart. Meanwhile they themselves vocally claim data is the new oil. That's their attitude towards your life. You're just an oil well to them!
Then you've got stuff like the chinese government and the implementation of that social credit score. Things like that seem like the end of personal freedom, especially when that kind of power is wielded by totalitarian governments. Maybe it's really just about the greater good, unsure, but I highly doubt it's just about rewarding you for taking care of your grandma. It's about the control of information and your ability to tell truth, or to just speak your mind. Like the state of those Foxconn factories producing the iPhone mr. electrician guy uses to send his dickpics with. Meanwhile they might as well could span nets around their factories, because of the amount of workers throwing themselves off the roofs. But I'm a hypocrite too, because I still bought a chinese phone myself.
Now on top of that you've got these other raggamuffins trying to hack everybody constantly, or just blasting you with robocalls and scam mails. That alone is tempting me to toss my phone into the trash, but they basically turned into an unofficial ID card. Don't know what if I would do if I was having kids, especially girls. But then I guess you'd be socially austerizing them when shielding them. It's horrific.
Long story short: I think private spaces are immensely important. Even if it's just to be able to retreat from this kind of collective insanity, the peer pressure and the constant nonsense we're being bombarded with.

WIFI line comes as a blessing for those of us who do business, study, freelancing through internet or want to get news from all over the world instantly. Having WIFI means no fear of running out of data every moment. Especially I would say without WIFI to work on my steemit I can't do it.
I got the proof of the important contribution of WIFI in our life last month because the WiFi line was off for a week. As the WIFI was off, working on Steemit was also stopped, I was not getting any news from home and abroad. I think as if everything has stopped.

We are so much used to WIFI line that today we can't think of using mobile, watching TV, doing business, studying without WIFI line. So, I would say WIFI has appeared as a blessing in our life.

Last week the Steemit server was down so you didn't miss a lot although I admit I thought it was my wifi.
It's not true what you say about running out of data. I have a mobile router - wifi and pay for 8 GB per month!
An internet connection isn't free someone has to pay the bill!

I do not like free wifi installed in my country. The Filipino youth are an undisciplined lot; they will watch porn with free wifi access.

I think people in the Philippines are abusing WiFi. But I don;t believe that everyone in the country will use free WiFi line and go to the negative side like porn. Maybe there are some negative minded people who roam around in the illegal side. But we are getting so many benefits from WiFi that some I don't agree to blame wifi for people. I believe you will agree with my opinion.
Another thing is our responsibility to understand those who choose porn after getting free WiFi. We should protect them from danger with our love.

Yes, you are right. But the newer generation of youth are bratty and disrespectful in my observation. "What's it to you??? You're not the one feeding/raising us!", is what they will usually retort back.
And the number of underage teen pregnancies of girls below 15 are on the rise here.

Free wifi can be great but it's not safe. With us they warn for it because it's easy to be hacked.
Some shops have it but you do not have access to every site or chat. Whatsapp for example not but you do have access to your bankaccount and can go to the pokémon go gym.
No idea if porn is possible but I wonder how to watch that in public. I mean are they in the library or at a fastfood restaurant?
I doubt people would use it for thst here. Perhaps if they can download for free and can watch it in the privacy of their home?

There are screen protectors of the matte black type that makes your phone screen hardly seen from the side angle by onlookers. And young people are very creative in concealment like they huddle together as if talking or reading yet watching the vid or they put device in the open bag and pretend looking for something...

Funny how I am currently planning to buy one (Wi-Fi) for my workspace at home. I am hoping to add streaming to my artistic content very soon and I really can't do much without securing at least a Mifi so as to make streaming quite effective.
I lot of people just get to see my finished pieces and not the process and I think with the help of a good Wi-Fi I should be able to show people my processes.

It doesn't seem to work very well with us. Many disturbance also by some walls (no idea what hides inside next to clay and straw iron?).
The constant pressence of those waves hurt my head (no microwave and such either). My son plugs in his device and if there is a connection at all it's more stable and faster.
Fast isn't guaranteed because there are many disturbance factors.

Yes, I intend to have people watch me work. Depending on the service/network provider, Wi-Fi can be very fast and worthwhile when you know that with the strong signal in your region before purchasing one.
Can be but it isn't guaranteed I learned that over the years and the further away from the sender of the provider the slower it is. Here you still pay the same and there was a huge process and law stepped in. Providers are no longer allowed to say we offer... speed.
Now everyone can check by postcode and house number. If you are at the end of the row it is... 👎.. and you find me paying the same. The providers are smart, no guarantee, no warrantee if a home office suffers from it or banking goes wrong. Now they say it's up to...

WIFI, which is the abbreviation for wireless fidelity, is a wireless networking device empowered with the ability to provide fast internet access with the use of radio waves. the first time I had access to WIFI was when I got to higher institution. and since then, I have been using WIFI till date. In fact, I am currently on WIFI; because it provides fast internet connection for my computer.
Strange, my wifi is slow and it has been that way since calling in with a land line ended. 🤔

Perpustakaan mungkin memilikinya tetapi tidak di semua tempat dan sekolah-sekolah memilikinya tetapi aksesnya tidak untuk semua orang. Beberapa supermarket memiliki tetapi mereka memblokir situs-situs tertentu seperti WhatsApp, Netflix, dan situs-situs terkenal lainnya. Beberapa bank memiliki akses atau tempat pangkas rambut jika Anda terpotong. Selama bertahun-tahun saya pergi ke perpustakaan yang berjarak 12 kilometer untuk berada di Steemit dan mengirim email. Saya menulis secara offline, pergi ke sana, mengetik, membuat daftar hal-hal yang harus saya lakukan atau pikirkan. Saya duduk selama 3-4 jam dalam cuaca yang sangat dingin untuk menjawabnya. Basically, Wi-Fi is very important in this world because it is very beneficial as you know better than me but the point is that in some countries it is not working well or no working fully. In my country Pakistan today the net is banned. People have a lot of work on the Internet just of the political crises in Pakistan they banned the Internet I don't know why. they should have a lot of work on the internet like freelancers etc how will they earn if they don't have a better internet. Look at me I use Steemit to earn but if they will ban the internet how can I use it? I hope it fixes soon. Thank you So much for reading it!

I hope for you it will be fixed soon as well but you are no exception. The best internet I had was arround 1997. At that time I needed a landline to call and connect. If you do not live nearby a sender it is bad or you have nothing. If you are at the end of the row it is weak. The more before you the worse it is. Even worse is that everyone pays the same and there's no guarantee. My children always have issues because they need it fir school. Videocalls? It is impossible so during the lockdowns it was hard to follow the lessons if you cannot see or hear anything.
I don't see improvement since the 90s perhaps with some but not with me, no matter the places I lived since those years. Even in the city the signal was bad although wifi was better than the phone signal. It was impossible to answer a phone.
More and more work online but it is hard and the blackouts are a problem as well. It's not good for the devices included other electronics. Many get broke if that happens.
