It's very rare to have your mother and your mother-in-law having the same birthday. Well, mine is one of a kind, and love them both, not only for having me and my husband but also, for loving our kids so much.

On April 13th each year, we celebrate both of their birthdays and I and my family are very busy for the event.

Last year, this is how we celebrated; My sister is a great cook and great baker too, but she only does things for the family alone, they are not for sale though I had been trying to tell her to make it a business and a living.

Here are the preparations done, as for the meat, I prepared it. I did the slicing but of course, I am under her supervision and I had to ask her how to do it. basically, each dush had a corresponding slice whether cubes or elongated. My husband is busy with the chores he needed to do at his mother's house too but for most of the chores that I had to do, he never failed to help me.

As for the cake, my dear sister made a moist chocolate cake and topped it with boiled icing she made. She's a super woman and I love her so much

Boiled icing; made of caramelized sugar is added to beaten egg whites on a mixer. I like it more this way because there is only a very slim chance that the icing will have a strong smell.

Back to the cake: to add color to the cake, my sister mixed icing and liquid food color as to her preference. She did the borders, but she was a bit hesitant to make the lettering and made me do it. I practiced on a plate first, then did it to the top of the cake.

Mom's favorite color is green but my sister's preference is pink, but it's still cool. Look! The next batch of cake is coming and it is for my mother-in-law's.

My mother's cake is done and I made additional icing colors for my mother-in-law.I don't have time to decorate it at home, also we decided to take it to my mother-in-law's place and let them decorate the cake. It would be fun.

The whole family is waiting for us; my sister-in-laws had been preparing the food and they were ready, everyone is very busy too.

We did an eat-and-run on my mother-in-law, the food was good and we and great company, lots of fun and everyone loves each other.

After eating a light meal, we headed back home, my mother's house is adjacent to ours and ate again the second time.

My other two sisters were absent,( yet my brother-in-law and his daughter is here) they had their own life and I wished they sent they warm greeting to my mother even thru the phone alone, We shared great food and laughter here too! How I wish, that a day will come when we will be having a joint birthday celebration for the two of the most important woman of my life.

I m so blessed to have them both, they are both so loving and kind and generous not only to me but to my whole family. Both of them are old, and setting so we all wanted to celebrate every year that we were given to have them and cherish them like they did to us when we were still young. I am even very thankful that my kid's grandparents are kind, I grew up with none by my side and my father's mother is a bit cruel to us way back.
