How did we get here?

in Ladies Universe5 days ago

If you ask me how we got here? I can’t quite remember. I think I vaguely recollected the first time my cousin came back with a parfait some years ago. I saw it and felt attracted to it. I hadn’t eaten it before and wanted to try it out.

He shared some with me and after a while, I demanded for one and he also got for me and I enjoyed it. I remembered not finishing the fisrt cup he got. It was too interesting to finsh all at once.

I ate some and kept back some for a later relishing and that was how my journey with parfait eating began. This happened in the Western part of our country. When I went for a long holiday stay at my brothers.

After then I started seeing more people come to church with parfait and they are selling it. I never bothered to purchase any from them because it was expensive and I couldn’t afford it.

So I will always tell them I will buy when I am ready. Few years down the line, here I am back to Lagos again for my favourite parfait experience.

I had developed a particular love for this brand called Royal Virgo. It’s so perculiar and special. Whenever I go to buy parfait, I see other brands and do not even want to give them a trial.

Why? Well, the eyes eats first before the mouth. You could simple see that this one is just different. It’s richer in the ingredients also.

While the other brands seem to just pack just yoghurt and oats with few things here and there, this brand puts in plenty fruits into theirs.

You will see apples, berries, coconut flakes, biscuits, dried raisins and oats inside their cup of parfait and they are technically the same price range.

If it’s you, which one will you buy, well, I guess you already know. One good day, I decided to give another brand a chance because I didn’t see my very own Royal Virgo there.

Oh my Goddess, what a disappointment I met. I was practically swearing while eating it. I was just eating it because I didn’t want my money wasted. Just plain youghurt and plenty oats. How could people be so mean.

Later you say that village people are after your brand and that’s why it’s not moving. Have you considered the competition?

Well, I went back to my Royal Virgo and the next time I go to buy parfait and it’s not there, I don’t bother buying at all.

One day I was craving parfait so much that I went to check around where I stay to see if I will see the Royal Virgo there but to no avail. The ones I saw were even more expensive.

Way higher than the Royal Virgo. I decide to give them a try and the disappointment I met was indescribable. Despite the fact that it was almost twice the amount and way smaller.

That was when I decided that I was done with these other brands. The reason I even tried it out was because the place where I buy this Royal Virgo is over an hour drive and in another part of the state.

Well, this period, I was craving parfait so much that I had to take transport all the way down to that part of town to where the parfait.

This time around, I didn’t buy one. I bought four cups. They had rebranded and added a little money on top but it was still way cheaper and way bigger than all the other brands available.

I took my four cups, paid happily for them and started traveling back all the way from where I came. I enjoyed them happily for the next two weeks and just finished the last cup.

Next time, I would simply call them for home delivery. The morale of this rant is that whatever is worth doing, is worth doing well.

Don't be mediocre, stand out. Be unique and people will sit the price to patronise you..
