The dairy game 3/3/26; “An Indoor Day Well Spent: Relaxation Meets learning and growth”.
One day can change everything. Decisions make or break us they say. And so it was for today. A little change of routine can make a whole lot of difference. Talk of difference, yea, maybe I have just decided to live a little more. From been MIA to mourning the losses of the new year and living life just one day at a time. Not trying to live but having hopes to get by the day one day at a time.
Today I woke up early. It s been ages I did that. Some days I sleep late into the morning because of lack of drive but today was different. Somewhere in me I decided it’s time to live. Move on with life. Appreciate the live I have before me and not let it slip by with the losses.
My alarm went off by 5am but funny enough j woke up 26 minutes earlier than 5am. I decided I was going to still lay in bed till it’s 5am cos I actually slept late just like I am doing today again. Early to bed is a virtue I do not know and hopefully l’d learn to imbibe that this changing season.
By five I was tired to awake but somewhere deep down, I know I want to start today early. Well, I lay in bed with my eyes closed and muttered some prayers for strength. My mind is awake and my body had to follow suit. It did later on. I got up in bed and dressed up. Put on my short and converse with a shirt. I was going to go for a prayer walk and a little run.
It was ten minutes past 5am. With gentle strides, I launched towards the door and disappeared into the morning. Descended the stairs of the two story building with eager steps. On the ground floor in the common room where some students reading. Exam is by the corner and it’s time to burn the midnight candle.
My Roomate was actually up earlier too reading. I got to the gate, unlocked the gates and headed into the street. People were already up that early hurrying to work while some are already on their duty post. Cars passed in their trickles and so the humans. I was praying and walking along the road while observing the environment.
I had to lift my voice in prayers of thanksgiving for the roof over my head when I saw some people who were sleeping by the road side on benches covered with clothes definitely to shield themselves from mosquitoes bites and also cold. I saw some other group sleeping in front of a shop. They were actually many in number in different sets.
I walked for about twenty minutes and back to my street. I wanted to do a little run to stretch my body. It’s been ages since I exercised. I had about fifteen minutes run round the neighborhood and retired to my place. All in thirty five minutes.
It was 5:43am when I got back. I used the next fifteen minutes to read my bible portions for the day and by 6am, I open some links to do some studies on real estate. The next one hour had me digging and reading. It was a great time of learning. By 7am, my alarm went off for prayer time on NSPPD. I joined the prayers online.
It was fervent and I hadn’t been active for a while. Along the line, I felt sleepy but had to push till the prayers were over. Soon it was testimony time and that was when I logged off to take extra nap to make up for the most time alt night. I thought to sleep for one hour extra but went almost three hours. We would definitely have to work on that.
By 11am, I proceeded to take my daily confessions, attended to some notifications on my Whatsap, made breakfast of beans and plaintain to eat, had my birth and went to join my friend in her room for a live broadcast on Facebook. My Facebook app was banned some days ago. I had submitted an appeal but they are yet to reinstate it. I don’t know if there’s hope. It’s almost a week now.
After the Facebook live, I got a little carried away and decided to binge on a movie on YouTube. It’s a new movie tittle “wheels of the heart”. It a great emotional romantic movie. Interesting but I thought it to be too long. Over 2 hours plus. I hate long movies. Well, with my little plate of ice cream keeping me company, it was worth the watch. I forgot to take a picture of my ice cream until it was finished. Hahhaha.
After that binge, I knew I had to do something useful with my day. I had some books I wanted to read and I needed to install my reading app on my laptop. I opened it and found it alredy installed by my friend who was using the laptop earlier. I spent a good part of the evening trying to figure out how to make the documents on the app in my phone appear of my system cause they weren’t showing.
I tried and tried and when it looked like I was goin a give up, Boom. Eureka. I found it. I had to upload them to the cloud storage for it to be visible across devices. I spent sometime doing that. And it was successful after all. I was glad I could finally figure it out.
Then came time to read. It was almost seven thirty in the evening. I started reading and spent about half an hour until my fried came calling. We haven’t had dinner. I had to follow her to the kitchen to fix diner for two. We had vegetables soup and Garri. It was late but that’s why we had available to eat.
After dinner, she bade me good night and retired to her room while I went back to binge watching the movie I had seen earlier. Now I had to stay awake again late into the night. Bad habit that I should definitely change. Well, I thought to sleep but definitely not until I have breezed in here to tell you how my day went.
Spent indoors but somewhat resourceful. And as I wrote this is 23:43pm. Almost midnight and that’s how we call it wrap for the day. Hope you enjoyed my diary. Do have a good night rest. Sweet dreams and don’t let the bed bug bite.
