The dairy game 31/3/26; A Long Day at the Hospital and a Timely Blessing

Dear diary,

Today had me waking up earlier than usual and rushing through my morning routine. I had to start preparations to leave the house as early as possible. I had been given appointment to be at the hospital by 8am.

I joined my online prayers by 7am while shuffling in between brushing my teeth, having my bath and making something quick for breakfast before leaving the house by past 7am.

These hospital rounds can be a lot to deal with hence I had to eat because I didn’t know when I was going to finish with the stuffs I needed to do at the hospital.

On arrival, I had to go to the lab section where I was going to have my blood drawn for the lab test and then also submit my stool sample which I have provided in the sample bottle that I collected the day before.

Was someone who has phobia for needles, it wasn’t a pleasant experience. The lab technician was kinda quick with the blood drawing but that didn’t make it less unpleasant. When he was done with collecting my blood sample, I gave him the stool sample too and then made my way to the scan section.

I was supposed to take a scan too. An abdopelvic scan to ensure that everything was good as regards my organs and reproductive system. I usually feel this dull pain and pressure on my right rib cage towards my liver position which I also complained to the doctor.

On arriving to the scan section, I noticed they haven’t opened for the day so we had to wait for an extra hour for them to set up and start seeing patients. Meanwhile I was sitted outside for a while before the receptionist asked us to come in after she was done with cleaning the place.

Soonest it was my turn for scan. The doctor said I had to take a bottle of water and walk up and down so that I could be pressed. She needed me to have enough water in my bladder as it would aid her to do the pelvic scan properly.

I had to take a bottle and a half of water and after the first set of scan, she said I needed to drink more water. It was a drinking water spree. I had to start running round the hospital just to have enough accumulation of urine in my bladder.

When I started feeling pressed enough, I had to return to the scan room to complete the remaining scan. She said my organs were okay and they printed my scan result and gave to me for which I paid for.

I had to go back to the section where I was to see the doctor. The attendant told me to go home and come back the next day to see the doctor that by then my lab test would be ready.

Well, it was already 12pm in the afternoon. I made my way out of the hospital and on getting to the junction where I would get a tricycle to carry me home, I stood there for sometime waiting for the tricycle. Meanwhile the sky had gone dark and gloomy and it looked like it was about to rain.

I was praying silently that the rain doesn’t meet me on the way. Just then my phone rang and it was my brother calling. He said he just passed by and saw me standing by the road. He was driving home from an errand and I had to go meet up with him and entered the car and joined him home. What a timely meeting.

We have only driven a little distance when it started to rain. A sigh of relive washed over me. If he hadn’t seen me as of the time he did, I would have been drenched with the rain cos it was very heavy. I was just glad for that timely intervention. It was like an Angel was just watching over me.

We got home and the rain was still much. My sister inlaw had to get an umbrella for us to come out of the car and into the house. I was really glad that I didn’t have to make my way home in that heavy rainfall.

The next thing was to look for what to eat. I had my chicken Peppersoup left over from the previous day. I warmed it and ate for lunch and then laid down to continue binging on a series I was watching on Netflix. I am not a big fan of series but this one was interesting and I had to see it through.

I spent the rest of the day with my series and by evening, my sister in-law with one of my cousins around prepared jollof rice for dinner. They dished some for me and I gladly ate and it was delicious. After the dinner, I continued with my Netflix binging into the night. Though I had to sleep early because I needed to be at the hospital early the next day to see the doctor.
