This is what happens when children are asked to supervise other children. They end to traumatising them for a lifetime.
I'm sorry you had to go through this.
I see no reason why schools should allow children to be in charge of other children. What happened to those matrons they usually employ? I believe an adult is well-exposed to know how to approach a child and command authority without victimising them.
This was one of the reasons I refused to attend a boarding school. I bluntly told my parents that I wasn't leaving the house to live in any school and I never did.
It was a terrible experience I had to dropped out and attend another school as a day student
