Challenge10/ Day 4: Songs that remind you of a special moment

Lo que toca para el día de hoy es mencionar canciones que nos hacen recordar un momento especial 3. Este #challenge10 está genial y lo mejor es que me pone a pensar. Como se hace mención es a un solo momento, pues he recordado uno de los momentos que considero muy especial en mi vida. Espero poder conseguir las interpretaciones en YouTube. Porque no cuento con grabaciones. @steemusic y @eugelys me motivan hoy a hacer un viaje en el tiempo.

Al mismo estilo del “Delorean”, me coloco el cinturón y dejo que mi mente viaje y remonte hasta ese momento. No sólo representó un momento especial para mí sino para un equipo de trabajo completo la materialización de meses de trabajo de sueños y esperanzas que además también implicaron la satisfacción.

Esas canciones que me hacen recordar un momento muy especial

El momento especial que he decidido compartir con ustedes es como dije un recuerdo de hace mucho tiempo. Aún estudiaba en la universidad química pura como le dicen para marcar la diferencia con la ingeniería química. Además de estudiar me interesé por hacer una actividad adicional así que me incorporé a las filas de la coral de la facultad. Ciertamente era complicado estudiar y a la vez tener esta actividad como “hobbie” porque realmente no lo es. La música implica disciplina y entrega. Así que eran dos cosas que demandaban bastante mi atención plena.

De hecho, lo dejé por un tiempo para podar avanzar en la carrera, me tocaron materias muy fuertes y me costó así que lo dejé momentáneamente, pero cuando me organicé un poco más y al enterarme de una gira programada me pareció buena idea retomar. Claro que esto implicó hacer la prueba de reingreso, aprender nuevo repertorio y ser evaluada constantemente hasta tener la aprobación del equipo musical constituido por el director, el subdirector y el profesor de canto. Al escuchar mi nombre entre los seleccionados respiré.

Fue una experiencia maravillosa, aunque tuvimos algunas no tan agradables que no merece la pena mencionar. Fue un cúmulo de vivencias, por ejemplo: el viaje a Italia, conocer gente y lugares bellos, cantar en la iglesia San Pedro en el Vaticano y ganar la competencia.

Quizás algo muy inesperado sobre todo cuando competimos a puerta cerrada, sólo con el jurado internacional que nos observaba en plena concentración y revisaban la afinación con sus diapasones cada tanto y además iban siguiendo la partitura. Nosotros ensayamos durante meses, nos dedicamos completamente, pero como bien nos decían nuestros guías sólo teníamos una oportunidad.

Algo que me impresionó fue ver sus caras sobre todo en la pieza popular venezolana que interpretamos. Yo puede ver como uno de los jurados le decía a otro que prestara atención que era una buena pieza. Esta no solo era una pieza de sitio donde vivía sino que el arreglo era de Modesta Bor una mujer muy talentosa. Al terminar nuestra interpretación completa porque era de arriba abajo si pausa y con esa cerramos el jurado no nos aplaudió, pero hicieron sonar en pleno los diapasones sobre la mesa señalando su satisfacción. Acá les comparto dos videos con las canciones que interpretamos, pero no tengo el video lamentablemente.

Since the mention is to a single moment, I have remembered one of the moments that I consider very special in my life. I hope I can get the performances on YouTube. In true "Delorean" style, I strap myself in and let my mind travel back to that moment. It represented not only a special moment for me but for an entire work team the materialization of months of work of dreams and hopes that also involved satisfaction.

Music has undoubtedly been a part of my life and I know it has been a part of many people's lives as well.

Those songs that make me remember a very special moment.

The special moment I have decided to share with you is as I said memory from a long time ago. I was still studying in college pure chemistry as they call it to make a difference with chemical engineering. Besides studying I was interested in doing an additional activity so I joined the ranks of the faculty chorale. It was certainly complicated to study and at the same time have this activity as a "hobby" because it really is not. Music implies discipline and dedication. So those were two things that demanded quite a bit of my full attention.

In fact, I left it for a while to be able to advance in my career, I had very strong subjects and it cost me so I left it momentarily, but when I got a little more organized and when I found out about a scheduled tour I thought it was a good idea to take it up again. Of course, this meant taking the re-entry test, learning a new repertoire, and being constantly evaluated until I got the approval of the musical team made up of the director, the assistant director, and the singing teacher. When I heard my name among those selected I breathed.

It was a wonderful experience, although we had some not-so-pleasant ones that are not worth mentioning. It was an accumulation of experiences, for example, the trip to Italy, meeting beautiful people and places, singing in St. Peter's Church in the Vatican, and winning the competition.

Perhaps something very unexpected, especially when we competed behind closed doors, only with the international jury who watched us in full concentration and checked the tuning with their tuning forks from time to time and also followed the score. We rehearsed for months, we were completely dedicated, but as our guides told us we only had one chance.

Something that impressed me was to see their faces especially in the Venezuelan folk piece we played. I can see how one of the jurors was telling another to pay attention that it was a good piece. This was not only a piece from the place where I lived but the arrangement was by Modesta Bor, a very talented woman. At the end of our complete interpretation because it was from top to bottom without pause and with that we closed the jury did not applaud us, but they made the tuning forks sound in full on the table indicating their satisfaction. Here I share with you two videos with the songs we performed, but I don't have the video, unfortunately.
