Concerts Cancelled Due To Virus

Things have gotten out of hand with the spread of the corona virus around the globe greatly hitting Asian countries particularly South Korea and Japan which is not surprising because they are the neighbors of the virus origin country, China.

In the past few weeks, numbers of cases have risen outside China which alarmed the world. The spread of virus brought a massive negative effect to the global market and the economy. Businesses, factories, schools, events, and gatherings are closed or cancelled to keep people safe and prevent the further spread of corona virus. And recently artists have also cancelled and postponed their concerts.

The newest to announce its concert cancellation is Avril Lavigne. Yesterday, she posted the announcement of her Head Above Water Asia Tour cancellation due to the virus. This is unfortunate because this is like her first concert in Asia after several years. Her tour is set around May.

Last week, Green Day who is set to perform for their Asia Tour this month have already announced cancellation.

Meanwhile in Japan, LiSA and Man With A Mission have also posted cancellation of their shows.

Artists like Kyary Pamyu Pamyu have also posted concern about the virus and reminded people on how to prevent getting infected with it.

This is a disadvantage for the entertainment business but cancelling shows is the best decision to secure the safety of everyone, from the artists, staff, and fans.

Since Avril has cancelled her tour on May, it makes me wonder what the Amuse agency would do for ONE OK ROCK and BABYMETAL's Asia Tour on the coming months. I know it's selfish but somehow I hope they postpone it if virus cases still have no signs of lowering this month.
