Abu Dhabi Mosque Jewel Layer
Many say there is an aura of magic in the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, Abu dhabi which makes the world's visitors more crowded there. So with its luxury, the mosque has been ranked as the third most favorite building in the world.
This mosque is the third largest in the world which has an area of 22,412 square meters, which is comparable to 4 football fields. The process of building the mosque began in 1996 - 2008 and was completed at a cost of around US$545 million.
The greatness that is kept by the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque is 82 white marble domes, 1,096 exterior columns, 96 semi-precious internal columns encrusted with gems and 7 Swarovski crystal chandeliers covered in 24-carat gold. This is so amazing !
The construction of this mosque, which has succeeded in becoming the center of world attention, was in collaboration with world architects involving more than 3,000 craftsmen from 38 global construction companies.
Before Covid19 came, this mosque was free to visit and opened every day between 09.00 to 22.00. There is a free tour guide service for one hour at the mosque.
If you want to visit this mosque, take a taxi from downtown Abu Dhabi to the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque which only takes about 20 minutes. While those from dubai, you have to travel for 90 minutes from Dubai Mall.
