Macro Smartphone Photography | Bee, Pollen and Spider

Nature is imposing and if we talk about the insect kingdom, it is even more impressive. It would seem that the primordial thing of each species is survival at all costs and that ferocity can prevail before calmness, but it is not necessarily the case.

In this series of four macro-photographs I will tell you about a spectacular contrast I found in my backyard.

Very close to each other, in the garden of my house, two of the insects that inspire the greatest fear of their bites coexisted and I was able to photograph them and be unharmed, hehe.

One day, taking pictures in my home, I saw a bee collecting pollen from a flower and I wanted to take a picture of it. Next to the bee, a few meters away, a spider with large beehives was waiting quietly in the trap it had made with its web. Both of them were performing before me their hunting habits. One was flapping its wings very fast and was moving from plant to plant, the other was resting motionless in its nest, camouflaging itself among the leaves.

I considered it ironic that being so close, they did not consider each other for aggression or help. I also pondered the ways in which they waited for their food. Then, I thought about what they might do as a herd if they were to meet with their guilds.

The truth is that I was able to draw a portrait of the life of the spider and the bee. With some agility and good fortune they were in good focus, especially for having taken this photo with my Samsung S6 phone.

I hope you like it
