Which has a greater influence on the movement of the steem exchange rate? Are external factors bigger than the steemit ecosystem?

Good questions.

My personal opinion is that external factors (i.e. speculation) are probably bigger than internal factors in nearly all cryptocurrencies, including Steem. I think that's why so much of the crypto market seems to move in the same direction at the same time. I haven't seen any analyses on the topic, though.
