THE CURSE
Hello, Steemit family For as long as I can remember I’ve had a love affair with the sky. You know the feeling you're walking home or maybe you're just looking out the window and the sky just... hits different.
For a while I was that person. You know the one who stops dead in the middle of the sidewalk to pull out their phone and capture a cotton-candy sunset or a dramatic, moody cloud formation right before a storm.
I had a pretty decent little gallery going on. It was my digital diary of the heavens. But then... it stopped.
Because of the Curse .........the curse of the Android 📱🥲
I’m not kidding. It’s a curse.
You see I committed the ultimate photographer's sin I use an Android.
And let me tell you this isn't just a phone preference it's a cosmic joke. Whenever I see a breathtaking sky the kind that looks like a painting where God went wild with the airbrush I pull out my phone full of hope.
I line up the shot. The colors are vibrant. The clouds are perfect. I tap the screen to focus. I hold my breath...
And then the camera app opens and the magic dies.
Suddenly, that fiery orange sunset looks like a pale washed-out yellow. The deep purples turn into a dull gray. It’s like my phone has a personal vendetta against beauty. It sees a masterpiece and thinks "You know what would look better here? Noise. Lots and lots of grainy noise."
It’s a curse I tell you! A plague!
Against all odds I have managed to capture a few moments before the Android Curse could fully corrupt the file. These are the survivors. The ones that slipped through the net.
Look at them. Look at them and tell me they aren't beautiful. (Just ignore the slight blurriness on the edges, okay? That’s part of the "charm." 🥲)
