Flood! A 5 minute freewrite
Occasionally in different places there are very copious rainfall that give rise to floods.
The flood also may be due to a lack of maintenance of the sewer system or in an extreme case to its absence.
Floods are frequent in places close to the rivers. A place that every year suffers from floods are the Venezuelan plains, there the inhabitants are familiar with the fury of nature, but in spite of this, once the water is removed, they come to clean and occupy their homes.

Ocasionalmente en diferentes lugares se producen lluvias muy copiosas que dan lugar a inundaciones.
La inundación además puede deberse a una falta de mantenimiento del sistema de alcantarillado o en un caso extremo a su inexistencia.
Son frecuentes las inundaciones en lugares cercanos a los ríos. Un lugar que todos los años sufre de inundaciones son los llanos venezolanos, allá los pobladores están familiarizados con la furia de la naturaleza, pero a pesar de ello, una vez que se retira el agua proceden a limpiar y ocupar nuevamente sus viviendas.

Hi, @felixgarciap. Is that where you live, on the plains in Venezuela? Here in Hoquiam, Wash., we have similar issues with flooding, though they're building a larger dike to keep the river and bay in check.
