Stockouts seem to be the order of the day. Frankly speaking, I doubt it has anything to do with wars, saving the environment or forcing people to recycle let alone help the small merchants to survive. Multinationals take over worldwide and those companies belong to the same handful of people, those lucky 7. The Gs have only one thing in mind: ruling the world and getting rid of the biggest part of the population. It takes time to do so but time is what Eugenics have they have a plan in mind and know just like each dictator did for thousands of years that people living in poverty and fear need a hero to save them. A real hero, a human one since the faith in God alone is not good enough. God will not come to your aid if you are killed in your home, invaders are taken over the country, you are thrown into a dungeon or drown at sea. Humans with courage, brave men and women are needed to give an example, to set the trend of defending themselves. If you take their needs away it is harder to stand up and fight
Will it work, will people give in if you take away what they need most, everything they are used to? Gas, electricity, milk, meat, fruits, animals, pets, their jobs, chocolate, salt and pepper...
It will unless we stop caring about the fake luxury, those items we were never used to in the first place. Some of them might make a task easier but there are plenty of ways to do it in 'the old-fashioned' way. While struggling to figure it out, we might meet our better half, that creative one with brilliant ideas on how to survive in a world without Nestlé, Mars, Snickers and Kellogs. In a world where we do not need a European car or a Japanese one. We can do without a Samsonite suitcase and Hollywood films. We might read our old writers again and communicate with each other and discover we are not the only people in need or who are lonely and be our own standup comedian.
What will life look like if we only eat what our country produces, and use our own products? If we stop taking all those drugs imported, triggering 1001 different diseases, illusions and anxieties?
We can do without newspapers and TV, create our own music sing and dance again and hear the latest news on the marketplace just like we did in the old days.

It's out of stock, the merchant says. I shrug and don't care. There are plenty of items for sale. Another time perhaps, I say and greet the shopkeeper. I don't feel the need to leave with a filled shopping bag with items I don't need or the urge to visit all the other shops because I am in need. I have rice, oatmeal and some eggs and will be back next month. I keep my grocery list and add to it what I used out of my pantry or believe I might need. Once it's shopping time again I'll decide if I really need what is on my list.
I lived long enough to taste and experience the luxury items and 'good' food and to be honest there's nothing I liked for real or would miss if I had to do without it. If it comes to it all we need is the basics of feeling good and no meal, snack, drink or new item can give me that longer than for a max of one hour.

Kewajiban negara memenuhi kebutuhan primer warganya, hanya saja sedikit pemerintahan yang berpikir jujur tentang kesejahteraan rakyatnya. Terkadang saya berhalusinasi seandainya masa kerajaan kembali lagi, dengan raja yang arif dan bijaksana maka rakyat akan bahagia tentunya. Persetan dengan demokrasi jika berujung pada kepentingan oligarki.
Begitu semua tanggung jawab diserahkan kepada para penguasa, mereka akan mengambil keuntungan dari kesempatan itu dan hanya mementingkan diri mereka sendiri. Sedikit lagi setiap hari.
Saya membaca artikel kemarin dan sebagian besar politisi yang belum lama ini berjanji bahwa mereka akan berjuang untuk rakyat, untuk budaya dan sebagainya telah berubah dalam waktu 2 bulan setelah terpilih. Saya kira jika mereka mendapatkan cukup uang, pilihannya akan cepat berubah.

unfortunately, we are living in an era where dictators masquerading as democrats are distorting the very concept of democracy. They persuade populations that democracy is flawed, thereby shifting public opinion in favor of accepting a dictatorial “hero” who garners support by using democratic rules to assert their power. My concern lies in the fact that this attitude is too easily accepted by a public distracted by superficial attractions, which provide an illusory sense of fulfillment and, in some cases, power. This is leading the population towards a loss of identity and to a level of alienation such that we are no longer capable of reacting to those who are mocking us. I place a lot of trust in the new generations; among them, perhaps, a light will shine and guide us toward creating a better world.

I do not believe the youth will see the light or make a change since they can not tell the difference. Perhaps women of some nations might since they already refuse to have children.
Perhaps in 100 years the need for change will be there if people feel miserable enough and most of them gave up on drugs. But if you ask me in 100 years is too early. I truly hope by that time (history)books and culture still exist.
All we can do is to create a better world for us and hope that light will shine on others doing the same.
