Delicious and Fresh Timphan and Cucumber

in Steem Japan6 days ago

Hi everyone.
This morning, as usual, I went to a coffee shop for breakfast. I rarely eat rice at home in the morning, so I opted for a cake and coffee instead. The shop isn't fancy. Plastic chairs, wooden tables, and a fan making a "ngiiing" sound. But once I sat down, it felt like home. The coffee shop owner already knew: "One black coffee, please. And right now, there's a flour-filled timphan (a type of cucumber) in front of me.

They also sell Acehnese cucumbers, fresh from the first harvest. The flour timphan is still warm. The skin is soft, and when you bite into it, you'll find grated coconut mixed with palm sugar. The aroma is mixed with the coffee. Then there were the Aceh cucumbers.

They were green, smooth, still dew-stained. Freshly picked from the garden behind the shop. Crack... so refreshing. Neutralizing all the sweetness on my tongue. I sat in the corner. Listening to the men chatting about chili prices, elementary school kids walking by in red and white, motorbikes passing by. I didn't talk to anyone. Just me, the cucumber, the cucumber, and coffee.

Suddenly I realized... "Oh, I'm not that lonely."

God sent breakfast. God sent a shop. God sent feelings. It means He hasn't abandoned me, even though I felt neglected yesterday.

Pumpkins are fruiting at home. Jasmine is blooming in the yard. Timphan and cucumber are waiting at the shop. It turns out Banda Aceh is never stingy with reasons to smile this morning.
