Concerned about flood victims, the Aceh KONI sent 30 tons of aid to all affected areas

The Indonesian National Sports Committee (KONI) Aceh distributed 30 tons of aid to flood victims, consisting of basic necessities and various other emergency needs. The aid was distributed to all affected areas throughout Aceh.

The Chairman of KONI Aceh, Saiful Bahri, also known as Pon Yaya, stated that the aid for flood victims was the result of donations from KONI Aceh, support from KONI partners, and donations from various parties, including clothing from KONI West Java.

"KONI Aceh is not only concerned with the advancement of sports, but also with a sense of humanity for the flood victims," ​​said Pon Yaya while overseeing the loading of aid at the Lido Graha Hotel Command Post in Lhokseumawe on Tuesday evening, December 30, 2025.

The various types of aid received were transported from the warehouse at the Lido Graha Hotel to be distributed to various regions. According to Pon Yaya, the aid was distributed to Aceh Tamiang, North Aceh, East Aceh, Bener Meriah, Central Aceh, Langsa, Southeast Aceh, South Aceh, Gayo Lues, Bireuen, Pidie, Pidie Jaya, West Aceh, South Aceh, Nagan Raya, Aceh Singkil, and Lhokseumawe.

The General Secretary of the Aceh KONI, Ahyar, detailed that in addition to basic necessities, the aid distributed included prayer items such as sarongs, prayer robes (mukenas), prayer mats, and even towels. The Aceh KONI also distributed mud-clearing equipment such as hoes, shovels, wheelbarrows, boots, gloves, and so on.

"There are also large water tanks made of stainless steel and polyethylene. We know this kind of aid is greatly needed by the community," said Ahyar, who, along with the Aceh KONI leadership, personally distributed aid to various regions.

According to Ahyar, the Aceh KONI has formed five special teams to ensure the effective distribution of aid. Each team is led by a leadership team, including the Chairman of the Aceh KONI, Saiful Bahri; The Daily Chairperson is Kennedi Husen; the General Secretary is Ahyar; and the Deputy Chairpersons are also included.

Ahyar said that in addition to the general public, aid will also be distributed to sports professionals affected by the disaster, including athletes, coaches, administrators, and mentors who have lost their homes or been forced to evacuate due to flooding and landslides.[]
