New Tutorial Guide || How to Map Places on Steem-atlas and Create Quality Reviews?
Most newcomers who join Steemit, including old users, find it hard to create quality review posts and also pin a particular place on the Steem-atlas map. **This post includes a video tutorial on how to pin posts accurately and a step-by-step written tutorial on how to create quality reviews, especially in cases where three learning challenges are on Steem-Atlas.
If you have any question at the end of this post, feel free to ask.. Starting with the video tutorial guide before a post on how to create a quality review post with the pinned code we got.
Steem-atlas is a map, and we can pin places we visit on the map with the help of Google Maps. Steem-atlas is one of the ways we can earn from Steemit, both as a newcomer and an old user. All you need to know is
how to pin a place on the map
How to locate the places we visit and correspond it with Google Maps
How to get the exact place on steem-atlas if a place isn't on Google Maps.
Video Tutorial |

In my video tutorial, I want to pin Camp Gee Hotels on the steem-atlas Maps and what I'll be getting for this is the address of this place, which is very important.
| Address of the place | Possible landmarks |
|---|---|
| Google Maps to check | Your mind eyes to locate |
It's quite funny to see this, right? You'll need your mind's eyes to get the location of any place on steem-atlas because there are written addresses of a particular place for us to know. It's just a plain space where we'll have to embed points. Let's take this as an example.
| My address | Camp Gee Hotels |
|---|---|
| Google Maps | Location |
| Steem-atlas | ![]() |
How did I get this code? Check this video for a proper guide. Your steem-atlas may be showing blue and red. It's still the same thing. It's just that the version I'm using has been used by me for a long time, and my phone kind of adapts to it.
- Click on the link to open the map. https://steematlas.com/
- Login with your private posting key
- Tap on the search and type your country or state, the place you want to review. For example, I typed "Uyo," and it took me straight to Uyo.
- If you don't do this, you can't get your location, and it would take so much time to zoom in and out.
- In some cases, if you type the exact address of the place you're looking for, it will take you to the area the place is. If you use the search icon and it doesn't show or tells you Location Not Found.
- Once you're in the state, city or area the address is in, make sure you use Google Maps to get it right. Google Maps will have the area or address of the place you want to review.
- You can use landmarks to guide you to your location.
- I do use streets, which are visible lines on the Steem-city,Atlas and Google Maps, to trace where my location is.
- If you use these lines, you try to check if they match the one on Google Maps. Use Google Maps to get the location by checking out the lines to see if these lines are on the steam atlas.
- Once you've gotten the area because you won't get the exact place, use Google Maps and your mind's eye to pin a location. It may not be exact as it's on Google Maps, but it should be something close to it.
- You can use the Embed pin icon on the map to pin the location. Confirm, confirm, and confirm.
- Then type the name of the place below and copy the pinned code. In your post, you'll just have to paste the pinned code without typing anything or adding anything to it.

How to Write a Good Review of the Place We Want to Pin on Steem-atlas? |
|---|
This is the main place I want to review and pin on steem-atlas. It's a fuel station with the name Tamarks Petroleum, which implies they sell all kinds of petroleum products.
These are the things you need to note before reviewing a place that'll make your post quality enough.
Take good pictures of the place, at least 5 or more.
Get the address of this place and the Google Maps link.
Ensure you visit the place to have adequate knowledge on certain things instead of assuming prices of things sold there, as this can lead to imprisonment. If you can't, check another place.
You can take pictures moderately to avoid being noticed by people.
What to Snap? |
|---|
Snap the exterior of the place on a wide-angle scale
If there's a signboard, snap
Interior
The electrical areas of the place, like fans, bulbs, etc.
Facilities in the place
Reception or place for receiving customers
Parking space, if any
Structure, walls, and building of the place
Accessibility points
Products and Services
Entrance
Anything you can capture that will give you good votes.
These are just some hints of some good pictures you can snap for your review. Now to the writing part where some of us have problems. I usually use this guide by @solaymann to create my review. 👇🏽👇🏽
Things to write about |
|---|
Where is it located and how to get here?
A brief history of the shop, founder, and established period, if there is any communication medium.
Provide clear details about their activities. How many employees are engaged in what work?
When is it opened and closed?
What are the facilities like? For example, electricity, seating arrangements, etc.
The names and price lists of the types of goods available here should be published.
How is the payment system done here? Cash payment, online payment, other
What products did you purchase? You should include their pictures and prices.
It would be great if you could provide your review feedback on how their service is.
Practical |

You can decide to give this summary at the beginning or end of your post. 👇🏽👇🏽
| Name of place | Tamarks Petroleum |

| Type of place | Fuel station |
| Address | Oron Rd Off Ifa Atai Big Junction |

For this question, Where is it located and how to get here?, I'll call it LOCATION as my subheading.
Location |
|---|
Write about the location. Where people in your locality can access this fuel station and how. Describe how to get there and possible landmarks that can guide a novice. Don't make it too long.
For this question, A brief history of the shop, Founder, established period, if there is any communication medium, I'll use 👇🏽👇🏽
Background, History and Management |
|---|
There's no need to attach a picture in this one except there's a stone with an inscription of the establishment period. You tell us how long this fuel station has been in existence. Talk about the owner and manager. You can describe them. You also tell us how this place has been in the past years and how it is now.
For this question, Provide clear details about their activities. How many employees are engaged in what work?, I'll use
Activities and Labor |
|---|
You tell us in detail what is done there. This includes delivery truck services, selling of petrol and diesel, production and selling of Kagen water, selling of diesel, accounting, and the like. **You then talk about the people doing this work. For example, we have 4 pump tanks, and in each of them, there's a fuel attendant.
That's 4 workers on a shift. Anyone can sell diesel, as it's not needed in demand as fuel. You talk about this extensively. You also include refueling the underground tank where the fuel is measured and sold. These are the tanks for both petrol and diesel, as shown in the picture.

After writing this, I'll place my title and tags as follows.
| Title | Tamarks Petroleum, The Water and Oil Station |
|---|---|
| Tags | #fuelstation #uyo #nigeria #steem-atlas |
Your tags should follow this format: from the type of place to the city, to the country, and then steem-atlas.
