Stop for a moment at the Jami' Al Ikhlas Mosque Bireuen
Good morning and warm greetings to fellow Steemians wherever you may be; I hope you are all doing well. May we all remain in good health and successfully carry out our daily responsibilities. On this pleasant occasion, I would like to review a place of worship—specifically a mosque for Muslims—that I visited while traveling to Bireuen City a few days ago.

Al Ikhlas Mosque seen in front
Masjid Jami' Al Ikhlas Geulanggang in Bireuen Regency, Aceh, is situated along the Trans-Sumatra Highway. It is located not far from Bireuen City, the administrative center of the regency. The mosque offers a peaceful and comfortable atmosphere for worship and is located in the Geulanggang Tengah village area, within the Kota Juang District. Masjid Al Ikhlas is approximately 50 kilometers away from Lhokseumawe City, where I reside. The mosque is known for its simple design that radiates a sense of peace, making it an excellent choice for a serene and comfortable worship experience.
For Muslims, the mosque serves as both a center for worship and a hub for public service. It plays a role in stimulating the local economy, upholding dignity, and strengthening the bonds of community among the faithful. Masjid Al Ikhlas Geulanggang is strategically located, making it an ideal stopover for travelers journeying to or from Banda Aceh. With its spacious and well-maintained parking area, many motorists choose Masjid Al Ikhlas as a place to worship and rest after their travels. The ablution areas and restrooms are also spacious and kept clean, ensuring a comfortable experience; separate, adjacent ablution areas are provided for men and women.

The congregation is performing voluntary prayers
The floors appear clean and polished, reflecting the mosque's excellent maintenance. The interior is equipped with comprehensive facilities, including red prayer carpets. Large pillars are fitted with fans, and copies of the Quran are available for congregants to read before or after prayers. The management has also designated a specific area for women, partitioned by a curtain to ensure privacy and comfort during worship. These complete facilities certainly enhance the comfort of the congregation.
Like most mosques, this one regularly hosts the five obligatory daily prayers and Friday prayers. It also serves as a venue for commemorating major Islamic holidays—such as the Prophet Muhammad's (PBUH) birthday (Maulid), Isra Mi'raj, and the Hijri New Year—as well as for other social activities. Regular religious study sessions are held after the Maghrib prayer for the congregation, with separate sessions for men and women. A bale (traditional open-sided pavilion) is located in the side yard, offering a place for congregants or visitors to rest. Overall, worshipping at Masjid Jami' Al Ikhlas Geulanggang offers a serene and comfortable atmosphere.
