The diary game. Early Winter Morning of Prayers, Responsibilities, and Family Warmth

Hello, dear friends! How is everyone doing? I hope you are all well and enjoying your time with your loved ones, no matter where you are. Today, I want to share another day of my life with you all. I hope you find some time to read my post and that you find it enjoyable enough to upvote.

Despite going to bed very late last night, I was quick to get up early in the morning and started my day with the obligatory morning prayers. Before offering the prayers, I purified myself by performing ablution, which is again an obligation before prayers as per Islamic religious principles. It took me around one hour to finish the prayers, express gratitude to the Almighty, and establish a divine connection with Him. Starting my day in this way helps me embrace peace and positivity, and it also gives me the impetus to finish my activities well within time. It helps me start my day very early and thus maximizes my time, as otherwise it would have been short because of waking up late.

This was the first time this winter that I was sent by my mother to buy some bread from the local baker because my father wasn’t feeling well this morning, and for that reason I was sent. It was something I enjoyed because I hardly complain about things; instead, I try to take experience out of everything I face, and this time again I found it quite an experience to go through such a cold wave and actually feel it. It gave me a strong feeling of how destitute people must be feeling as they have scarce clothes and other means to keep themselves warm. Upon returning from the baker’s shop, it was breakfast time and we had breakfast together.

After finishing my breakfast, I sat in my room and read a few chapters of the engineering books that I have at home. Today, I was given a task by my mother, as we had recently bought some new typical fire pots called kangri, which are unique to this valley. To preserve them for a long time, we coat them with an adhesive, and the famous one we have here in India is Fevicol, a product of Pidilite. I mixed a few scoops of Fevicol adhesive in hot water and then applied it on these kangris to make them strong.

After finishing this job, I got another task from my father: I needed to segregate apples according to their quality and store a few crates for the rest of the winter season, and then give the other apples that were not fit for eating to my cousin, who took them to feed the sheep. As my cousin has a strong bonding with us, he spent some good time with me while we were segregating those apples. Later, it was time to move along with him to see my grandmother, who had been ill just a few days before, and as I was quite busy with my office work, I couldn’t visit her earlier. I found it an opportunity to go with my cousin to his house to see my grandmother, and upon reaching there, she was so excited to see me, as she had already told my aunt that I hadn’t visited her in the last few weeks. I felt bad about it because my grandmother is old now; she is as innocent as a newborn baby, and taking care of her is our responsibility. Looking at her with compassionate eyes is always our duty now.

It was very late in the evening when I returned home, and this time I was satisfied because I had visited my grandmother after a few weeks. I had always felt it inside me because it wasn’t good at all, and I was afraid that if my grandmother died, I would never be able to forgive myself for not visiting her once. Later, at around 9 PM, I had my dinner, and this time it was special because my brother had brought some meat from a very popular shop in a nearby town, and it tasted good as everyone praised it. Later, at around 11:30 PM, I went to sleep after going through social media and calling it a day.
