A Taste of Tradition at Rumoh Tuha: Discovering the Unique Milk-and-Egg Coffee
Few days ago, I was invited by a friend to have coffee at Rumoh Tuha. He told me that they serve a milk-and-egg coffee that tastes incredibly good. That’s exactly why I decided to come and accept the invitation.
The name itself already tells a story. Rumoh Tuha in Acehnese means “old house,” and the concept is beautifully reflected in the design and atmosphere of this place. From the moment you step inside, you feel like you’ve traveled back in time to a traditional wooden home filled with warmth, calmness, and character.
Step outside, and you’ll find a different kind of comfort. The outdoor seating area is surrounded by bamboo trees and natural greenery. Wooden benches and tables sit on white gravel, creating a natural garden atmosphere. It’s quiet, fresh, and ideal for long conversations without noticing how time passes.
The cafe is dominated by wooden elements, from the walls and tables to the ceiling structure. Soft, warm hanging lights create a relaxing glow that makes the entire room feel intimate and peaceful. It doesn’t feel like a modern cafe trying to be trendy. Instead, it feels like a timeless space that invites you to slow down and breathe.
The indoor area is incredibly aesthetic. The low-hanging lantern-style lamps, the classic wall textures, and the neat wooden arrangement give a strong traditional vibe. Every corner looks thoughtfully designed, making it perfect not only for enjoying coffee but also for taking beautiful photos.
This is the kind of place that suits many moments: catching up with close friends, having light discussions, enjoying some personal “me time,” or simply relaxing after a long day. It is not loud or crowded. Instead, it offers a calm environment where you can truly enjoy your coffee and your company.
The milk-and-egg coffee was truly unique and memorable. Served in beautiful layers, the drink combined rich coffee, creamy milk, and a smooth egg mixture on top that created a thick, velvety foam. The taste was surprisingly delicious, sweet, bold, and comforting all at once, with no strong egg smell at all. At only IDR 15,000, this special coffee felt not only satisfying but also incredibly worth trying.
What makes this cafe special is not only the drinks, but the feeling it gives. It feels warm, welcoming, and meaningful. You don’t just come here to drink coffee, you come here to experience a moment of comfort.

Sometimes, what we really need is not the most expensive coffee, but the most comfortable place to share stories.
