Assalamualaikum my stemian friends, Here I share you my little story visiting mosque at Banda Baroe Aceh Utara. That day, our plan was simple. We went for a picnic to Krueng Tuan River, located before Mount Salak, along the KKA–Takengon road. The journey itself was refreshing, green landscapes, fresh air, and a calm atmosphere far from the city rush.
On the way, we decided to stop for a while at Baitus Shalihin Mosque in Banda Baro. It was not a planned visit, but sometimes unplanned stops give the best moments.

From the outside, the mosque looks elegant and well-maintained. Its white structure, combined with traditional Islamic architectural details, creates a peaceful and welcoming impression. The spacious yard makes it easy for travelers to rest for a while, stretch their legs, and prepare for prayer.

When we stepped inside Baitus Shalihin Mosque, the atmosphere immediately felt calm and peaceful. The prayer hall is spacious, clean, and well-lit. Soft natural light enters through the windows, creating a warm and relaxing feeling inside.

The interior design is beautiful and balanced. The tall pillars, decorative arches, and traditional Islamic patterns give the mosque a strong sense of character. The combination of white, gold, and green colors makes the space feel elegant without being overwhelming.
The mihrab is clearly visible and beautifully designed, becoming the spiritual focal point of the mosque. Everything inside is well-organized, allowing worshippers to pray comfortably and with focus. The floor is clean and shiny, reflecting the care given to this place.
We performed our prayers there and took a short break. Sitting quietly inside the mosque, we felt refreshed, not only physically, but also mentally. It felt like a pause, a reminder to slow down and reconnect with purpose before continuing our journey.

What I really appreciated was the cleanliness of the mosque. The prayer area, ablution space, and surroundings were generally clean and well-organized. Although there were some marks on the walls due to limited maintenance, this is understandable as the mosque is located in a rural area. Despite that, the mosque is clearly cared for and continues to serve not only as a place of worship, but also as a comfortable resting point for travelers passing through this route.

In the parking area, there is also a clear notice reminding visitors to dress modestly when entering the mosque. This gentle reminder reflects the values upheld by the mosque and helps maintain a respectful atmosphere for worship. It is a thoughtful touch, especially for travelers, ensuring that everyone feels comfortable and aware of proper etiquette while visiting the mosque.

Parking Area

The Mosque is more than just a roadside mosque. It is a peaceful stop for travelers, a beautiful place for worship, and a quiet space to find calm during a long journey. If you ever travel through the KKA–Takengon road, I truly recommend stopping here, even if just for a moment.
Sometimes, a short stop is all we need to feel grateful, refreshed, and ready to move forward again.

The entrance gate looks classic, marked by two solid pillars. Its simple design gives a traditional feel and creates a welcoming first impression for visitors entering the mosque area.

After finishing our prayer and taking a short rest, we continued our journey with a calmer heart. Baitus Shalihin Mosque may stand quietly in a rural area, but it offers comfort, reflection, and a welcoming space for every traveler who passes by.
