Before I Noticed the Morning, Evening Was Already Here

Devise some way, my friends — let us arrest the flight of time;
I never truly saw the morning… and already evening begins to climb.
These lines stayed with me for three and a half years.
At first, they sounded beautiful. Just poetry. Just emotion. But now I realize they were not just words — they were a warning.
Three and a half years ago, I started writing on Steemit. I remember that first post clearly. My hands were not steady. I kept checking it again and again before publishing. There was excitement, hope, and honestly… a little fear. I thought I would write every day. I thought I would grow fast. I thought success would come if I simply stayed consistent.
But life does not move in straight lines.
Some days I was motivated. Some days I disappeared without explanation. Family responsibilities came. Personal struggles came. Laziness came too — I cannot lie about that. Sometimes a single upvote or a kind comment would lift my spirit again. Sometimes silence would make me question everything.
And while I was busy feeling all this… time kept moving.
I kept telling myself, “I’ll be serious from tomorrow.”
“I’ll improve from next month.”
“I’ll give my full effort soon.”
But “soon” is a dangerous word.
Before I truly experienced the freshness of morning — the early stage, the golden chance, the energy of beginnings — evening was already approaching. Three and a half years passed quietly. No announcement. No warning.
This post is not advice for others. It is a reminder to myself.
We cannot stop time. No one can. But maybe we can stop wasting it. Maybe we can choose to notice the morning while it is still light outside.
If you have been postponing your effort, your growth, your dreams — don’t wait for the perfect moment. It may never come. The perfect moment is imperfect. It is today.
Because one day you wake up… and realize the sun is already setting.
And you wonder —
Did I truly live my morning?
Or did I just watch it slip away?
