Steemit Travel - Our trip to Batticalo Beach srilanka @harithachamod
This is my second post in this community. This month that means October 21, we decided to go on a picnic. We went to Pasikuda Beach, this beach is in Batticaloa. Nine members of our family participated in this trip. We left Colombo railway station on the 8 pm train. It took us 5 hours to reach Valachchena station.
We booked two rooms near Pasikuda Beach for 3 days and it was 800 meters from there to the beach, so it was easy to walk to the beach. The next morning we woke up at around 10am because we arrived at Valachchena station at 1.30am. We walked to the beach, there are lots of palm trees and cacti, these days it rains a little so the heat is less. The sea waves on the beach are not at all rough and this beach is not rough. You can walk in the sea for about a kilometer. Here you can take a boat to see the coral reef and the sea creatures that live there. Since we went at noon, they said that the sea waves in the coral area were high, so we decided to go early the next morning and had fun at the beach.There is very little seafood here, so we went to the town and bought things and had a little party and had fun.
On the morning of the 23rd, we left for the boat ride. There were 9 of us, so we had to go on two boats. We were given life saving jackets and goggles to wear. We had to take a 10-minute boat ride and had a good breakfast when we got there. Many people vomited because of the swinging in the boat. My wife had a little trouble and then we jumped to the sea from boat. The guide who took us told us not to step on the corals even though we are not heavy, the corals will injure our legs. Unfortunately, it was not possible to take photos of the corals in the water as we did not have a waterproof camera. A lot of fishes came around our boat, they are used to eating biscuits given by people who come to see the coral from boats. We spent an hour in the sea. Boat ride cost 58$ for 9 person Here are some pictures of it.
At the end of the boat ride, we came back to our accommodation, had lunch and left to see the coral islands. Due to the 2004 Tsunami, the coral reefs were broken and the part like this island was formed. There is no sand on this island, there are parts of dead corals. We walked along the beach until around 6pm, had dinner and decided to leave the next morning. This trip was a great experience, we had a lot of fun and when we got on the train, we wished we could have stayed for a few more days.

It's great to see that you are having fun. This is one of my bucket list destinations to travel to. Hopefully, this year's end. That 360 image in Elephant rock pasikuda is impressive.
