Travel Story - Travel to Ba'alawi Mosque [A Mosque Full of History]

	Location

Before leaving for the Ba'alawi Mosque, my friends and I had time to travel to Dayah Darul Huda with the basic aim of celebrating the return of a Muslim named Tengku Muhammad Daud Ahmad or better known as Abu Lueng Angen, he is one of the Charismatic Ulama of Aceh and the leader of the dayah Darul Huda.

	Location

If there is a place that you want to visit while in East Aceh Regency, it is the Ba'alawi Mosque. This mosque is the fifth type of Ba'alawi Mosque in the world, located in Pucok Alue Dua Village, Simpang Ulim District, East Aceh - Indonesia. Of which 4 are located in Jambi, Singapore, Huraidha and Tamren Yemen. This building is well known by many people from the North Aceh region, Lhokseumawe City and East Aceh and even Central Aceh also knows this mosque.

This mosque was founded alone by Sayyid Al-Habib Muhammad bin Achmad al-Attas. He is one of the charismatic scholars of Aceh. This mosque was built as a form of his charity worship to Allah SWT. Habib has been known to be pious since he was little and he is used to the name Goodness. Then he began to move to Medan and continued to Jakarta until he finally moved to the Holy Land of Mecca for up to 13 years. In his old age he decided to return to Simpang Ulim, with determination and enthusiasm to build a fifth Ba'alawi Mosque after he founded in Yemen, Jambi and Singapore.

Habib never asked for help from the government because it was to support his noble ideals. Congregants who are always loyal put alms into the mosque's piggy bank in small or large amounts. He used all the money to build the Ba'alawi Mosque. Until finally in a relatively short period of time, Alhamdulillah this mosque was completed so quickly and then inaugurated exactly one day before Habib returned to Allah SWT at the age of 97 years (1942-2021).

This mosque is very majestic and beautiful. The building is blue in combination with white. With a beautiful interior, a comfortable atmosphere makes visitors want to linger in the mosque. To the east lies the grave belonging to Sayyid Al-Habib Muhammad bin Achmad al-Attas and next to it there are also good accessories sold by local residents.

Regarding the mosque's facilities, it is very adequate, starting from the parking area for motorbikes and cars and besides the mosque there is also a place to sell. Vendors sell snacks and fresh drinks. For visitors who feel hungry and thirsty, they can buy it in the mosque area, no need to go out. In the middle of the mosque there is also a fountain which is an additional decoration of the mosque as well as clean and well-maintained bathrooms and ablution places.

This mosque is very famous especially for the people of Aceh because its founder is a charismatic Acehnese cleric who is highly respected, loved and became our teacher. A beautiful mosque that he left us for us to use for prayer. Plus the local residents of this mosque have also formed a group of people who are tasked with taking care of the mosque.
