Growing Eggplants in My Garden

Friends of stemian, every day we certainly have our own activities which sometimes we do these activities over and over again every day. As a housewife every day I am also preoccupied with various household chores.

But that doesn't mean I don't have time to do other activities besides household chores. Like today I fill my free time on the sidelines of being busy taking care of the house by helping my husband grow vegetables.

Not far from our house, we cultivate the family's land to grow vegetables. The location of the land is perfect for a garden because it is located on the edge of a river, making it easier to water the plants.

In the past, this place was used as a plantation area for local farmers to earn a living, including my family. However, after the tsunami a dozen years ago, many of the lands here were left empty and many were even overgrown with bushes that looked like forests.

Maybe there are still some who still care for them but the land here is still not as comfortable as before. To get rid of boredom when I don't have anything to do in my spare time, my husband returned to working on and clearing this land for farming.

As a test for the first time, we plan to plant purple eggplants. For today we plant eggplants which can be said to be ready to bear fruit. We got these eggplant seeds from our relatives who also happen to like gardening.

In fact, this eggplant is already old, but because after we planted the plant, our relative lacked land to plant it, so he asked us to plant it on our land. Because we also plan to plant Eggplant plants.

We plan to give fertilizer to these large eggplants after planting them in the ground because previously these eggplants were planted in plastic pots and had not been moved until they were fruitful. So that the growth of eggplant plants is hampered due to lack of soil.

Actually, we have also sown a lot of eggplant seeds ourselves that we bought from the store. However, our plant seeds cannot be planted directly in the ground because they are still in the process of growing seeds.

There are approximately 300 eggplant seeds that we have sown and maybe we will be able to plant them directly in the field in about a week. The plan is to experiment and see the condition of the soil in the land, we plant it in small quantities first.

Because later we will also plant some more vegetables to fill the land. Actually, I myself have very little experience with farming. You could even say I rarely grow plants other than planting flowers.

However, to fill my free time there is nothing wrong if I study part-time to help my husband. After going to the garden several times, I learned a lot about the initial process of planting plants well.

Because planting plants is not just planting, we must be able to adjust the condition of the land and soil. And most importantly the land gets enough sunlight for plant growth.

In addition, the distance between one plant and another must also be adjusted so that the plant roots get enough space. Every type of plant has a different way of planting it, friend, stemian, even to adjust the distance is also different, that's what my husband said.
