Religious Tourism and Travel to the Grave of Aceh Ulama

The tomb of Syiah Kuala is one of the meals of Aceh's charismatic clerics. Syiah Kuala tomb is located in Dayah Raya village, Syiah Kuala sub-district, Banda Aceh city, Aceh province. The real name of Syiah Kuala is Sheikh Abdurrauf Bin Ali Alfansuri he was in 1001 H (1591 AD) in Singkil and he died today 23 Shawwal 1106 H (1696 AD) at the age of 105 years, he was buried in Banda Aceh in the village of Dayah Raya Syiah Kuala sub-district in accordance with his mandate. Syeich Abdurrauf is the only cleric who is able to translate the Qur'an, he even has a book of neural hadith Al Ba'in 40 and he also has a book on advice for the leadership of the kings in Aceh.

By visiting the tomb of Syiah Kuala, here we can take a religious tour while reminiscing about the history of the ulama. At the tomb of Syiah Kuala we can also get information about Sheikh Abdurrauf and how his leadership was and the efforts he made in spreading the religion of Islam. The name of Sheikh Abdurrauf is not only known in Aceh, but his name is so global considering that during his time he served as kadhi malikul just, in the kingdom of Aceh Darussalam starting during the reign of four queens.

The love of the Acehnese people for all of his sacrifices, his name was pinned in a well-known university in Aceh, namely Syiah Kuala University (Unsyiah). The pilgrims at the tomb of Syiah Kuala are not only local residents, many pilgrims from outside the region and even abroad visit the tomb of Syiah Kuala. At the Shia Kuala tomb, pilgrims must obey all the rules that have been made during the pilgrimage. Pilgrims are also forbidden to take pictures inside the tomb.

For pilgrims who want to know information about Sheikh Abdurrauf, they can ask them directly at the information section concerned or the tomb guard. If there are pilgrims who want to relieve themselves, they can also contact the service and information provided at the tomb. Usually on certain days many pilgrims come to perform feasts such as slaughtering goats which are carried out on Mondays and Thursdays. The Syiah Kuala tomb is protected by the UPT, the directorate general of culture, the office of the Aceh Cultural Heritage Preservation Center. With religious tours like this we can reminisce about the figure of the ulema who became a role model for the people.

Although we often hear stories about the graves of Syiah Kuala, it is different if we visit them in person. A cleric who becomes a just leader will continue to stick in the hearts of the people of Aceh. His history of struggle and advice will continue to be an inspiration to the people. Hopefully we can continue to preserve the graves of the scholars and remember all their struggles.
