Samuel's Fortress- Ohrid North Macedonia

My family visited this beautiful place last summer in Ohrid North Macedonia. It was a 6 hours drive from Sofia, Bulgaria. Ohrid is a beautiful city, highly recommended, the locals are friendly and very accommodating. They even welcomed us with a rakia 🤣 ( strong drink) .

Did you know that Ohrid was Bulgaria's capital before? It was one country, the same culture one heart. (They can understand each other, Macedonian and Bulgarian language. . You'll find this Samuel Fortress, in Ohrid. Kings used to live there and fight many battles, protected by huge walls. There is a similar castle (Kra Kra Fortress) in Pernik Bulgaria, lots of history. Maybe I'll share it next time. . Yup! I love the Balkan region🤗 .
