Introduction:
This weekly report outlines the various activities carried out in Cameroon from 19th March to 26th March, 2023. These activities were aimed at achieving the set goals and objectives of the country in various sectors, including economy, education, health, and security.
Economy:
Cameroon's economy recorded a boost as a result of the implementation of various economic policies by the government. The Central Bank of Cameroon announced that the inflation rate had reduced from 2.9% to 2.1%, while the country's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) increased by 4.5%. This was achieved through the implementation of policies aimed at improving the business environment, promoting entrepreneurship, and attracting foreign investment.
Education:
In the education sector, the government continued with its efforts to provide quality education for all. The government launched a new program aimed at improving the quality of primary education by providing teachers with training and teaching materials. Also, the government launched a scholarship program that would benefit more than 1000 students from underprivileged backgrounds.
Health:
The government continued its efforts to improve the health sector in the country. The Ministry of Health launched a campaign aimed at increasing the number of people who have access to healthcare services. The campaign targeted rural areas where access to healthcare services is limited. As part of the campaign, the government provided medical equipment and drugs to various health centers in rural areas.
Security:
The government continued its efforts to maintain peace and security in the country. The military conducted several operations aimed at combating terrorism and other forms of criminality. In one of the operations, the military arrested several members of a terrorist group that had been operating in the Northern region of the country. The government also intensified border patrol to prevent illegal immigration and smuggling.
