Week 54
My fellow Steemians
I’ve always advised Steemians to keep an eye on their voting power. This week, for the first time in more than two years, my voting power went under 80%. This is not because I made use of automated voting, but because of the number of posts I either verified or commented on. And no, I don’t vote with a 100% or 50%.
Nothing frustrates me more than seeing a verification, but the moderator did not vote on the post. Come on! We all need to support each other. Is this not what Steemit is all about?
Nothing frustrates me more. I am wrong. For the last couple of weeks, I did not do a power-up as I was “saving” for that last swim. It was a huge frustration, as I’ve been doing a power-up every week for a very long time. I just had to do one this week. Here I can answer that question; this is what Steemit is all about.

Steem For Ladies
I am sure the team will agree with me if I say that we are enjoying every bit of SEC 16 as well as all the other support posts we are receiving, but that we are tired.
It’s been a busy five weeks so far. Last week, we came so close to having 400 active posts in the community. We are going to enjoy the rest after this week.
Don’t miss out last week of SEC 16: “My photo album as a man or as a woman”
My duties:
- Curation and verification of posts on my day of duty as well as filling in on the days of others
- Educating and monitoring 6 moderators
- Validating MOD verifications
- Verifying new members
- Booming posts submissions and community voting
- Taking care of community notifications and comments
- Writing of 4 community posts
- Monitoring and running of community contests
- Lending a helping hand to members of the community
- Approval of moderator contests
General:
This week, support was given via WhatsApp and Discord to four Steemians, and various others were helped on the platform.
Africa:
Supporting and helping my fellow Steemians from Africa is still a priority for me.
Communities
No advice was given to any of the communities.
Curator
A helping hand was given to one curator.
Issues encountered:
- Lack of engagement
It is with sadness that I have to mention that there has not been any improvement in the engagement of Steemians participating in the engagement challenge. In Steem For Ladies only seven Steemians had more than 25 unique comments. This is out of 123 contestants.
- Time
If anyone can donate time to me, I will appreciate it.

It is something that has happened since our last discussion. I do feel shame about commenting on these posts of yours because I am rarely involved in the comment section. I will not only comment without upvoting the post because I feel a little sorry if I leave no upvote but only comment on it. Lately, I tried my best to comment on the post and upvote the post when I do it with certain percentages.
I hope I can do more next

I find it very hard to keep an eye on my voting power. It's easier if I use the app but it's slower and commenting is more difficult.
To be honest I do not understand why my SP is not allowed to be <80%
I most likely am frequently underneath this level unless I only comment 6 posts a day.
It's nearly impossible to switch after a few votes and comments to Steemworld! You have no idea how long it takes my phone to load that site and Steemit besides of the fact it easily gets frozen.
It's not easy to please everyone. To be honest I start losing my respect for those who do not care about a great platform, real comments, the amount of upvotes left behind but only focus on the rules set by???
I wonder if it pays well to be inflexible. I no longer check on upvotes since I noticed most moderators and commentors do not, at least not with me not different from most I treat with an upvote. I must be one of those fossils out of the old Steemit's time who've made a habit out it. It sounds as if we are restricted and punished for it.
Why is is a mistake not to power up but save first?
