In our modern world, media has become a powerful tool for influencing people. It provides us with information, but that information can also be manipulative. When something is presented in a particular way, it captures people’s attention and shapes their opinions. Traditional media means newspapers and television etc. Once, we had no other options for learning about political, economic or social issues, except the traditional media. But after the revolution in information technology, everything changed. Our knowledge is no longer confined to what newspapers print or what news anchors choose to tell us. We are now connected to the world and this has greatly expanded our access to information. Through social media, we can learn things that traditional media might hide or overlook or portray as normal.

We have seen how social media can change people’s minds. Many recent movements - such as the Arab Spring or Bangladesh, Nepal’s political uprisings, were influenced significantly by social media. However, this influence is a double‑edged sword. People are becoming glued to social platforms, wasting valuable time and getting misleading information. They are also being manipulated by information that powerful groups want to implant in their minds. Many individuals are forming online friendships only to be deceived or exploited. Children are especially vulnerable to these dangers. Hence, social media is beneficial, but it can also pose a serious threat if not used wisely.
