Our Story Shall Never Rest in The Same Tomb

I once wrote a dreamy piece for a friend going through a separation titled Love Metamorphosis. I wrote it as if an amicable breakup could bring some strange comfort to us—as if it were all smiles and rainbows.

I lied.

Because deep down, I knew those words could never apply to me. In truth, they don't apply to most of us.

It was a beautiful, if naive, dream. We want to wish people the best even when we know the reality is usually ugly.

But we can still dream, can't we? After all, a dream is just a beautiful lie that hasn't come true yet - so technically, the lie hasn't happened.

But let's be honest: if someone breaks my heart that deeply, I don't even want to breathe the same air as them. Even if I am destined for hell, I want to make sure I'm not going to the same one they are.

Just get the hell out of my sight.

It's a conflicted range of emotions for her from love to hate. How could one ever hate so deeply if they never loved as deep in the first place?

A hurt so deep and unresolved grief, her feelings extended beyond hate.

Running with all my might
To the memorial site
Where remnants
Of our remembrances
Are buried
Cold air freezing
My tears as they shed

Digging the snow
With my bare hands
Fingers getting numb
From the cold
Frostbite or not
I don't care
All I want to do
Is to get you out from there

Pouring gasoline
On the pyre
With your remains
Set it on fire
Watching the flame
Eating away
All that I once cared for

The boat heading
To the middle
Of the glacier lake
Scattering what's left of you
Where your part stays
At bottom of the lake
In between the glaciers
While my part shall
Remain buried in the snow
