I can’t say I’ve actually watched Initial D—I’ve just seen bits and pieces of it while someone else had it on. I remember the part where the father gives him that 'unofficial' training during the tofu deliveries.
I think maybe it’s just not the right time for me to watch it yet—timing is everything. It reminds me of how I kept switching off Nana; I just couldn't click with it at first. But when I finally watched it at the right moment, it hit me so hard that I wondered why I hadn't loved it sooner.

You are right. There is a time for everything also if it comes to films. I experience the same also with books. We shouldn't regret we didn't watch it earlier. I wonder if the same counts for people we meet.
