Daily Prompt | Sandman

In my native language—Castilian, or more commonly known as Spanish—the Arenero (sandbox) is the part of a playground where babies are usually left to play in the sand... even if it isn't exactly hygienic. As I grew up, I discovered that it is also the title of one of Metallica's best songs, in my humble opinion. Unfortunately, I never actually took the time to decipher the lyrics. Recently, the algorithm decided to suggest the series to me; I don't have Netflix, but I assume Google had something to do with it. Come to think of it, it was actually a post by my good friend @gwajnberg that first made me aware of The Sandman series. And today, thanks to a moment of serendipity, I discovered that the "Sandman" is a figure from Celtic folklore who bestows beautiful dreams upon those he visits in their chambers while they sleep. I prefer this latter version—all while listening to the Metallica song and deciphering the lyrics.

En mi idioma natal, el castellano, o mejor conocido como español, el "Arenero" es el lugar del parque infantil dónde suelen dejar a los bebés para que jueguen en la arena...aunque no sea nada higiénico.

Al crecer descubrí que es el título de uno de los mejores temas del grupo Metallica, en mi humilde opinión. Por desgracia, nunca me detuve a tratar de descifrar la letra.

Hace poco, el algoritmo decidió sugerirme la serie, aunque no tengo Netflix, pero supongo que Google tiene algo que ver. Ahora que lo pienso mejor, realmente fue una publicación de mi estimado amigo @gwajnberg la que me puso en conocimiento de la serie Sandman.

Y hoy, gracias al prompt del día, descubrí que el Arenero es un ser del folclore celta, que regala sueños hermosos a quienes visita en sus aposentos mientas duermen.

Prefiero esta última versión, mientras escucho el tema de Metallica y descifro la letra.
