Those memories that hurt a little
The image feels bittersweet because of the memories it brings back. It was the year 2009, and my mother wanted a herd of goats, according to her, to sell the milk. At that time, I was working and had a good salary, so I could afford to buy it for her.
We named the male goat Alpha, and his companion Omega, who that same year gave birth. A pair of beautiful kids, a little male and a little female. I don’t know who chose the names, but lacking other familiar Greek letters, we baptized them Apollo and Aphrodite.
They were quite spoiled, and they liked to sit on the patio chairs, but Apollo had a rather rebellious temper, and when he didn’t like something, he didn’t hesitate to butt us with his head, which made us laugh since it caused no harm.
The next birth was very sad. Omega couldn’t manage alone, and with no veterinarian in the village, all three died—she and her two kids. The memory still brings tears to my eyes. That’s why the photo of these beautiful little animals feels bittersweet.

That’s a terribly sad story, but it’s also why I believe that anyone who keeps animals should know how to look after them and be able to step in if something goes wrong. You don’t need to be a vet to assist with a birth, although I do think nature should be allowed to take its course without human intervention.
If I understand correctly, your mother still had two billy goats and one nanny goat left at the time.

You're right, it's a thing we never expect and so the fatality happened. We didn't know how to managed the situation 😔.
Yeah, the father and the two sons were fine but we had have to sell them because we couldn't afford their food.
We were very improvised, that's not good for animals.
