A worrying sky
As I was having breakfast (a piece of pineapple cake), looking into the sky, I was met with an orange sun. Although it looked pretty, I was reminded that it is a sign of pollution, too much carbon dioxide if I am not mistaken. Not something we should be admiring. In fact, it did look quite worrying.

An orange sun like that looks just like sunsets on the beach to me. Yeah, we have all kinds of environmental issues now, and everything seems to be changing for the worse. We usually have sunny days almost year-round, but recently it looks less sunny. Almost chiller when we look out the window even though it isn't actually cold. We're dealing with a serious haze issue right now. There's open burning in our neighboring country.
Today's evening sun was orange too! Heyyyy, are we neighbours? We are dealing with haze too from the open burning in our neighbouring country. In the photo, the sky was all haze. Yesterday was bad, and today was slightly better (i.e. can see a bit further haha). Stay safe there @emmabritt, keep hydrated, stay indoors where possible and wear a mask if you need to walk out (tho not sure how much a mask helps).

Haha, I thought you were neighbors with wakeupkitty, and she's actually pretty far away from me. I'm in Malaysia, by the way!
Since I work from home, I'm mostly indoors anyway, and even if I have to head out, I definitely won't linger. I know I should probably wear a mask, but with my asthma, it just make things worse for me.
I really hope this clears up soon. It's so bad right now, but I still see kids playing out on the field, which is quite worrisome!

Oh wow, me tooo @emmabritt!! Where are u at? I work in KL and live in PJ. And it rained for a few hours just now! Yippyyyy. Kitty is way in Europe, Netherlands I think. Far far from us.
Oh I am envious that you get to work from home. How I wish I get to do that everyday. Though I don't mind going to the office once a week. But I only get to work from home on Fridays, which I am not complaining. It is better than none.
I hear kids playing in the pool area, screaming, laughing. I don't think people are taking haze seriously. And it is affecting my eyes and throat. Hopefully with the rain, it gets better.

I really didn't expect that! If not for the subject of the terrible haze, I would still have thought you were somewhere in Europe just like Kitty. Now I understand why you are not used to Japanese curry, coz it's so different from the one we used to have.
I live in KL though PJ and KL are basically the same thing to me, and we've all gotten used to zigzagging in and out of stations on a daily basis.
Yes, there was a massive wind blowing and rain yesterday when I went out for groceries, but frankly, the air was still really bad even after the downpour. You really ought to be more careful on your daily commute. Just a little while out there and I was already coughing last night! I think one has to use Eyemo and a nasal spray to clean themselves properly on days like this.
I wasn't able to work in typical ways like most people, so I'm really thankful for the existence of remote work; the lockdowns changed everything.
Maybe those kids just have strong bodies, or their parents think people worry too much, but if I had kids, I would definitely lock them up indoors, haha!
Haha yah, my taste buds and head says curry is suppose to taste like the indian and malay ones. That is why.
Ooo.. we probably may have zig zagged pass each other too haha because I take the train to work. But it is pretty convenient around KL to take the trains. Just need our bus number 11 and know which station to go to, and we are all set to go anywhere.
Yah, The haze is still bad even after the rain for the past two days. Last Friday was one of the worse so far I think. I keep my eye drops and antihistamine close by. Yes, the kids' parents probably thinking what is there to worry about. Kids are happy running outdoors and less headache for them. Haha.
Hey, on a more serious note, I am very sorry for being insensitive about the working from home. I just read your profile in a few places and I didn't know you are going through a lot 😟Working from home probably was your only option to earn a living. Let me know if you need anything k.. we are practically neighbours ❣️.

Haha yeah, I should have guessed it about the curry! I've always had very strong taste buds. I used to say I will die without chili padi. I was so puzzled when my friends ordered Japanese curry because it felt way too bland and sweet for me back then. Now they taste alright, but I still prefer homemade ones so we can adjust the spice and flavor just right.
It’s really nice to hear that the public transport system has improved now. I haven't used the local ones since I got my driving license over 20 years ago. Back then, taking public transport was a nightmare, buses would just skip stops or suddenly take random detours through town so you never knew where you'd actually end up. I used to get so many panic attacks, and I was probably that horrible person who refused to give up my seat because I would faint if I stood up. I don't really go out except for my medical appointments these days, so I relied on my partner and Grab.
Ugh, yeah, the haze is still so bad. It baffles me why nothing ever gets done about the open burning year after year, especially when it affects Singapore too.
And please, no worries at all about earlier! You're completely fine. Working from home really was my only option left, or else I wouldn't be working at all and would have nothing. Thank you so much for the kind offer, my dear neighbor ❣️
