CCC CONTEST Looking Back/Look Forward 3.46
Last weekend was a good one. It was my brother’s birthday and we had a small gathering to celebrate. It had been a few months since I saw him and his family. And being able to meet them last weekend, it was good.
Initially, he wasn’t keen to have a celebration and so, the night before his birthday, I went online and ordered a balloon to be sent over to him. He didn’t want any cake and so, no cake for him.
On the day, the family decided to go ahead and have a small celebration for him. I was tasked to buy dinner. In the morning, the balloon arrived at his place but it deflated the moment it reached his hands. It was disappointing. But I managed to get a replacement after contacting the customer service personnel. Phew!
Then, with a last minute thought, I decided to make a little card for him. I searched for his favourite character and found one that was feasible to draw and started drawing.
At first, I thought to leave it as it is, pencil sketches has its black and white beauty but my hands got itchy. I started colouring it. Then, it got further itchy and I drew the outline with a pen...
...and coloured the surroundings, as though he was speeding through light.
When evening came, we went to get dinner and hopped on over to his place. It was fish and chips night. It was a nice little celebration and now that we are in another lockdown, I am glad we got to celebrate.

Yah, I feel the same too. Seems like there is always something else that spikes up the cases or variant strains , etc.
The balloon was a bubble balloon, different kind that felt like plastic instead of the usual rubbery kind.
