Our brain has an amazing ability to hide the most frightening and bad things somewhere far and deep, so we don’t have instant access to this information. And that’s probably for the better 🍀
If you ask me it works from both sides. To forget and refuse to think about/ignore is unfortunately not the same. The first is a natural way to continue life in a healthy way, the latter is refusing to admit something went wrong. Ignoring it will harm but on the other hand one shouldn't dig too deep.
