I think it is going to be useful, if you are a new user or having low SP. But, once, you have enough. I think you will probably stop checking the website. Or, at least you will not be paying attention to the RCs.

I did not notice anything with the loading time of the website. Maybe, it is a browser related thing. You can try a different one to be sure.
